You forgot that the Networks tried their own POC servers , the networks did not see it as a business roadpath - totally blind.MPT1327 I was involved with the rollout of Q-Trunk and involved with the first voting implimented in South Africa .Fleetcall followed after they found we had the upper hand.

I'm a bit skeptical about PTToC as I know what has contributed to the success of cellular technologies in developing countries. It's primarily economies of scale which has brought the costs down, cost of owning a transceiver radio aka mobile phone and the carrier charges. Network providers have employed all kinds of frequency reuse techniques to accommodate as many mobile phones as possible in a given area. The hand-offs have become better when moving around but the call drops are still very high as the same frequency is most likely not available on the next cell tower and shifting to another frequency is not that smooth. Given this scenario of race conditions for available frequencies and first hand experiences of cross talks due to depleting bandwidth, how could we reserve one frequency for a set of devices. In likelihood it will be a premium service available only for law enforcements or people who don't mind paying that extra money. Surprisingly the instant messaging has made it much more easier to stay connected over a virtual channels for real-time experience and really don't have to worry about being on a reserved frequency all the time.
