Technically speaking, all you need for a gun is a propellant and a projectile housed in a casing or barrel, so for this weapon, the hammer must have a little firing pin in order to make the shell go boom.

@@DreddLypso yes it does, but the projectile will only get a short distance travel, the accuracy is very bad and the muzzle flash is big enough to severely burn your hand(s), so i advice you to wear a pretty thick gloves
