TK strikes me as a Covert Narcissist (as opposed to a Grandiose Narcissist), during that interview you could hear him recontextualising events to place himself into a hero role. When it obviously comes from the bruised ego of being rejected by CM Punk, CM Punk going on to somewhere happier and him essentially being called a toxic boss. It is like he needs to say "I know you are but what am I?" it's very childish. I wouldn't even be surprised if him making the Pepsi comparison was a dog whistle meant to elicit a response from Punk. Which narcissists are known to do. He needs to focus on himself and his own product but can't.

I got another thought that hasn't been discussed... How's NJPW feeling? Are they feeling WWE is coming for Japan? Are they using Tony Khan as a strategic media tool? Is there any benefit to NJPW with WWE receiving negative press? Where on the globe is WWE trying to gain market share and from who are they taking it? I'd be curious to hear that breakdown from the panel. This might be more about AEW's partners business interests...

WWE living rent free in Tony Kahn’s head

Tony Khan had the opportunity to really build up AEW as a great wrestling company. Yet, 5 years in and he has been burying his own company because he can't stop running his mouth. And he's booking poorly acted segments. And say what you wanna say about Eric Bischoff, he's literally trying to give that clown advice on how not to bury your own company. Especially since Tony has been really trying to get AEW to be like WCW. Like the Monday Night Wars. And I'm surprised he didn't get into any trouble by the network or any sponsers with his Harvey Weinstein comments. And maybe Martha Hart needs to rethink her having AEW using Own Hart likenesses in the near future.

WCW was the only promotion that could have directly challenged WWF/E the way they did for as long as they did because like Al said, they were around for decades. WCW had legitimate stars, they had a legitimate brand that was a known commodity in wrestling. The brand was in the public consciousness. They also had the backing of Ted Turner who didn’t try to be Vince McMahon. WCW had a lineage through Crockett Promotions and the NWA. AEW doesn’t have anything remotely close to the substantial impact WCW had on the wrestling world literally decades after it being defunct. It’s a mistake thinking you can compete with a promotion that doesn’t see you as a threat. Vince McMahon saw WCW/Ted Turner as the definitive threat to his empire. It’s documented, and lauded as the catalyst behind the greatest boom in wrestling history.

Anytime I listen to Vince at work, once Al starts his long winded shit I fall asleep at my desk. Happens every time. Never veen so bored by a human being I swear

Tony Khan just keep putting more and more egg on his face with his comments AEW just need to focused on themselves and not on WWE.

Al Snow is spot on. AEW is miles behind the WWE when it comes to competition. TNA Wrestling in 2010 tried to compete with WWE, couldn't even keep up when WWE product was at its worse, after that TNA paid a supreme price and had to rebuild and they're doing very well now than 10 years ago.

TNA is a zombie promotion now. Their parent company purchased the channel they are just to keep them on the air. They average 70k viewers a week. And the talent was just staging mutiny because their best friend boss got fired and now they can't do dumbass stunts now.
