There is a cut in a scene every 2 to 4 seconds. Just look one more time, and count a seconds to the next camera change. And now realize, that this fight is build from a many short scenes compiled togehter. It is not one long scene, it is a many of short scenes. Between those scenes are pauses, discusions, planning, trying, laughing etc. And than camera starts for next 4 second scene with two kicks.

Atkins is brilliant though....just saying, it's the way of the world. Think about how many non white superheroes there are....think hard on it...how many of them have a pure movie? I truly feel tired for the Capoeira master. So many movements and energy wasted on purely taunting the opponent.
@EduardoLopez-tged
2 жыл бұрын
You are correct about the taughts and feints as being energy used. But its not always wasted, its more like a gamble, if one of those feints leads to a solid knock out hit, then its worth it. Kinda like Anderson Silva and his movements, we would call them a waste if they didn't lead to so many victories. But like any gamble the one time it didn't work out (chris weidman) we remember. Like anything else you implement your strategy, the implenet theres and you hope it works out (didn't for capoeira guy this time, could have tons of times before and after).
@kyokushinheart

Not necessarily, I’ve practiced Caporeira and the normal movements are like low cardio, as it has a rhythm… so as long as your breathing goes along you don’t go tiered. As in any combat condition, altering that breathing cuz of defense/offense manuvers, it what gets you tired
@lucarossi8442
2 жыл бұрын
Yes, those moves require a lot of energy and coordination but you should know that this is what Capoeira is about, using those movements and changes in the rhythm to trick your opponent and deliver a devastating hit from an unexpected angle.

This was a VERY good fight scene because it was difficult on so many levels. It's not enough to have two such great talents, the problem is that you need a choreography that does both styles justice without giving the audience the feeling that either of the combatants looks like he is allowing the other guy to perform certain moves. Capoeira looks great but isn't really suited for self defense. But somehow they managed to make this fight look believable (within the settings of a movie fight of course) which is a tremendous feat considering Jaa is so fast and well rounded as a fighter that you'd think he would make short work of anyone goofing around like a Capoeira fighter. The choreography is top notch.

They need to add Capoeira to the Witcher series. The Witcher whirling and spinning style of fighting has also been panned as not useful and unduly acrobatic in a real world fight, but that's the whole premise of the series, that the guys are superhumanly quick and reflexive.

Obviously you know very little of capoeira. I have met my share of capoeira opponents and dispatched them. Only because of my willingness to stick with them and not allow the maturation of their strikes. None of them were experts and i have a healthy respect still. Every strike carries the entire mass of the opponent and it doesn't look like this laughable fight scene. The only thing I compare it to is bagua. But what do I know. I am 50yrs old with 35yrs fighting experience. Right?
