The reason why yujiro gave baki the title as strongest is because the essence of strength is to enforce ones will, all baki really wanted was his pops to cook a meal for him, baki enforced his will on the strongest man on the planet by making him tofu at the end, the fight itself was jus to kids who finally found the toy they can play with how they like

the fight was good and I'm happy that it lasted more episodes as it deserved and as we hoped. But the ending disappointed me... I expected Baki to be able to win properly using a secret move or a much stronger version of the Shaori (used by Retsu's master against Yujiro). In the end Yujiro won because he didn't suffer Baki's very serious injuries... even if he cooked for him in an "imaginary" way it's worth nothing.

Yujiro stands at the top of the mountain uncontested. For a man like him there can be no greater torture than dominion over a world of weak opponents. Strength means nothing if you aren’t given the opportunity to actually put it to use. For Baki to push and test Yujiro and make meaningful presses on him in combat is the greatest gift Yujiro could ever receive and to receive it from his son no less. Those rib crushing bear hugs, using Baki like human nunchucks, he was playing with his son and showing affection in his own way. In the world of Baki the Grappler, this twisted carnival of blood, piss, tears and catastrophic pain was the most profound expression of familial love that could be mustered by these two characters.

I just love this whole complicated father son relationship that the story created.

This isn't a fight to the death. This is a son testing his dad. Every son has done it at least once in their life. And in the end, the dad respects his son for finally growing a pair.

I actually agree. Yujiro took his son. Baki and chock slammed him into a car from the top of a building. Afterwards, Baki asks for help up. Yujiro in response, closes his eyes makes a noise and goes and does it. Thats pretty dang huge.

What do you mean? He was telling the truth, he was so proud of him that he handed his title down to Baki but Baki gave his father the victory. The first instance of him being genuine is when he wanted to pat Baki on the head when Baki dodged his dad's hand he was confused because he realized it really was just a pat on the head there was no additional movements or actions, just a basic pat on the head.

There are many kinds of fights. Some fights are to win, some fights to teach, some for acceptance, and some simply to survive. For Yujiro, this was a fight to teach. For Baki, it was a mixture of a fight for acceptance and a fight to win. Neither of them were looking to mortally injure the other. In the end, they both won. Yujiro was able to teach Baki the lessons he wanted, and Baki finally earned the respect and affection of his father.

All Yujiro ever wanted was for Baki to be strong enough to challenge him. Yujiro always loved Baki, but Baki needed to earn his respect. Great show.

If you’ve been watching this show since grappler Baki 2001, this whole end fight is fucking awesome. What a great journey. So many memorable over the top and goofy scenes. Somehow it’s an anime mostly devoid of deep meaning (besides themes of family relations) yet it ends up being such a creative anime / manga.

I literally have been watching this my entire life and waiting to see how it ends. My stepfather got me into it when I was 4, and since then I’ve been a major Baki head, so seeing the conclusion of the fight finally, I feel like it healed something in me. I’ve never been more proud of Baki for not only fighting as hard as he did, but also maturely handing over the victory. My only wish is that they played Child Prey when the crowd yelled about the conclusion

This was amazing. It’s not about winning or losing. Yujiro is all about strength. Ultimate power. His blood, his line, the next generation, his name. The Hanma cannot be associated with weakness of any kind. When Baki realized “oh shit I can actually hang with my dad. I can’t necessarily hurt him but I can take his best and give it back to him” is when Yujiro understood that he is free to go all out and Baki could take it. In every fight, Yujiro always held back because nobody could match him. He’s found a worthy opponent but also found someone worthy of his respect. He respects strength. Period.

I feel like yujiro always wanted a strong opponent from his kid but he also wanted Baki to get his revenge for killin his mother it’s what’s really put him on the path to try n surpass him because if you watched older Baki he was a lot more berserk n had way less restraint now you can tell he really considers his actions even as strongest also it’s great to see Baki ascend to a level this high in his verse he’s literally a top 3 character in the Baki verse

This show is so fkn hilarious every time I see clips of it, I don’t even want to watch it bc I love seeing it all out of context lmao

The ending of this fight reminded me of the reason why I like this anime. It doesn't matter who wins, the main thing is to become better than you were yesterday. I especially liked that none of the fighters lost, both fought like real warriors.

I think people are sleeping on this anime, Baki finnally came in terms with his Father, ending the long complicated conflict with unsettling feelings towards his Father and finnally giving up, he understands that Yujiro has his own ways to do things while he never got an answer why Yujiro killed his mother, he is still proud as a fighter to have such an inhuman Father and for the first time, he even got the much deserved validation from Yujiro that he has always been working on ever since he wasn't much of a fighter himself. Mostly, Baki admires and respects Yujiro even tho on the surface it's hate that he feels maybe deep down he does love him a bit like 10%? Idk

Anyone that understands Yujiro deeply knows he was half assing the fight. Bcz he has now developed feelings for Baki, his son. When Yujiro was ruthless in beginning of the anime, he was the strongest bcz he didn't had any emotional empathy for people he fought, no reason to hold back or having the feeling that he might hurt them.

He wasn't half assing anything he just wasn't fighting for only the sake of defeating his son he was also teaching Baki a lesson a lesson about what true strength is to impose your will on others it was a true father and son fight baki learned a lot from his father and in the end won with the same principle of strength yujrio just taught he got yujrio to sit down with him and eat a meal that wasn't even there when he was just defeated

This is and always will be my single most favorite fight in all of anime. They wrote this beautifully, and animated it all with brilliance. Few scenes capture the manga in spirit the way this one did. The dialogue was perfect.

This has got to be the best father and son fight in an anime currently.

He's killed fighters outside of competitions, just hunted them down and challenged them at any moment because he feels they always ought to be ready to fight. I think you missed the point of the dialogue he had with his mother's former butler when questionning about how he felt towards Yujiro and claim that he no longer hates him after many years starting to understand his father, Baki admitted that her mom was fufilled when she got the hug of death by Yujiro in retrospective. If he fought Yujiro, it's simply to repay his mother's last moment where she gave him love for the first time by protecting him and also bonding with his father with the sole way possible : punching him really hard.

Yujiro killed the mom because the mom CHALLENGED him as an opponent. They literally covered this before the fight. Baki is fighting Yujiro to repay her love, not for revenge.

We were waiting for this for soo long. Hell of a battle I must admit I was hoping for pickle to get involved, but this was Baki’s fight alone

when you read and see baki, you can understand that even absolute bonkers insanity, if well narrated, it's absolutely entertaining

One of the best highlights of 2018 was watching baki and devil man crybaby.

the logic in this anime is beyond the realm of human and does make it more fun to watch

I was never 100% sure if these characters had actual super powers or not, but this clearly confirms that, jesus christ.

This dude used his child as nunchucks, slammed him into a car repeatedly And in that time Baki was just Chillin making a little toy from the car parts he was being smashed into. And was completely fine.

One of the best moments of the fight is when Yujiro unleashes his full power, causing the entire arena to shake. Baki responds by channeling his own strength, creating a shockwave that sends Yujiro flyin

Out of all the fights Baki has been in, never seen him whine and cry so much because of the pain, really shows you how strong his dad is compared to everyone else he’s fought

It is very clear he stopped toying after Yuichiro how in the fuck did you miss that 💀 in fact if you wanna talk about what the scenes imply, him saying Baki is the strongest there is after the fight is him insinuating he finally got a fair fight where he tried 💀

Buddy, yujiro literally embraced baki after they fought. And the 1 Damm move that got him was mf clapping his ears. Tell me, IN WHAT CASE WAS YUJIRO ACTING SERIOUS. Demon back has nothing to do with it.

Yujiro was acting serious when they literally started punching relentlessly mano a mano, Yujiro was acting serious when Baki was actually avoiding his blows and countering properly, even drawing blood, Yujiro acknowledging Baki by the end means fucking nothing, and why do you act like I’m saying they’re equal? They’re not, you’re simply refusing to believe Yujiro managed to get serious and actually try in said fight, and how does demon back have nothing to do with it? Baki mythos had made it crystal clear that demon back is when Yujiro plans to be completely relentless and pull no punches 💀

Baki won the fight by making his father cook him the meal ... though that he didn't actually beat his father he still showed him that his will is way beyond his body limit.

I've read the entire Baki manga dozens of times, probably one of my favourite reads. In the end, Baki made Yujiro believe the dinner was real (when he flipped the table), and Yujiro lost. However, Baki tells us that his father taught him that the true winner is always the one standing in the end, which was Yujiro. Therefore, he won. Ultimately, they called it a draw as they were both satisfied with one another. Absolute great adaptation by Netflix

Baki, after gaining the sheer force of will to make Yujiro stand in the kitchen and make dinner, something literally nobody else has proven remotely capable of: "Where's my sandwich, old man!!"

There was no way baki could beat him. He moved tectonic plates with just a punch for christs sake but the fact he moved his spirit was enough. It was never about physical strength but the strength of heart.

I’m just happy that Netflix finally finished a show.

The Dress technique blew my fucking mind. I swear i was smiling almost as hard as Yujiro
