I attend OCBF and have been greatly enriched by Dr.Tony Evan's teachings. I know we serve a great God that turns all bad into good and with faithful prayer, this solider of God will be restored in due time. In the meantime we (OCBF) will come together as a church family, ultimately we Serve God, not man just as Dr.Evans has taught us.

I really hope this is temporary. So many have had sin but repented, been forgiven by God and kept it moving forward. I hope he gets the courage to come back soon. Praying for your Church, Dr. Evans, and his family. He is greatly loved more than he knows.

People expect pastors to be perfect and completely without sin. They are still human. This actually makes me respect him even more. Because HE took it to them. Prayers for the family and the church family. The Father will use this for the good of His kingdom somehow. I stand with you in prayer for the family, your church, and Dr Evans. God will restore in Jesus name!

This doesn’t affect my faith, but pastor Evans is one of my favorites. Definitely praying for him and everyone affected during this time. This just makes me truly want to live a holy life! Not to be saved, but because I am saved and know that how I live can affect ministry. Thanks for covering this🙏🏾

You said it exactly right! We follow and serve God, not man, no matter what position of leadership they hold. Our faith isn’t shaken when someone stumbles or falls, because they are not who we worship.

Praying for Tony Evans and everyone around him. His ministry has helped me and my city so much with his leadership.

Our men's Bible study is currently study Kingdom Man. The study is very good and challenges men to become Leaders in the home, Church and the community. We all have sinned and fall short of God's glory. Thank God for 1st John 1:9. Pray fall those Pastors who are leading the flock 🙏

MmmHmmm. And this post seems to have lots of people hungry to hear what “the evil deed is”. We don’t need to know.

If this sin was in the past, why is he just now stepping down he should’ve stepped down long ago. I can see future sin and him stepping down doesn’t sound right

Doesn't matter WHAT he DID PRAY !!!!

Two types of people. One that comes forward and admits his sin from the gate so that the healing can begin. The second is the person who is vague and basically states I did something but never admits what it is. Too hard to reveal the lie. I’ll let the readers decide what type of letter this was.

2 types of people? That sounds judgmental. I am both of those people depending on what is going on in my head, heart, emotions, etc. He had a whole board of elders who as a group decided the outcome. That should be good enough for us.

@@BravelyDailymaybe, hopefully, it was his own growth. Maybe looking back with 20/20 hindsight he realized he didn’t handle something correctly. But in the moment of it happening he thought he did the correct thing. So maybe he’s coming forward to make it right for other parties.

Oh dear ivisited his church one day he had many church members he would have repented there's no sin which can't be forgiven . God still loves you Pastor .no matter what

Men can do ANYTHING and everyone will forgive them. Women need to be extended the same respect. I don't even know why you step down if you're just gonna get back up there. Just go to therapy and keep it moving.

I can't tell you how many cryptic "stepping down" statements I've heard with no clarity. What happened? Affair with current wife?

I really don’t care because he was not really I passed. I looked at and listen to.

What SIN SPECIFICALLY ?????

Question: Why did it take him two years to confess this sin? No matter if he confessed it to God; as the Pastor of that church he was responsible for reporting to the elder board before it came to this. Sadly, he didn't own up to it before his elder board and church until he was called on it.

@@user-gm1pj3vo9j - True if one is truly a born again Christian, he is not condemned to hell for whatever this sin was. However, there is such a thing as biblical accountability and church discipline. He is being disciplined by his church.
