Keep your eyes peeled around New Jacka$$, he's shady af. Also the reason I heard as to why Backlund wouldn't put Hogan over was because Hogan had zero Amateur wrestling background, therefore Bob didn't respect him whatsoever. That's why they had to have Sheik come in, because Sheik was a God and Backlund had no problem putting him over. Also it made more sense in the long run, it's easier and faster to do it that way than to turn Bob heel and build that heat between him and Hogan, when you have an established mega-heel like Sheik ready to make it happen quickly.

Not quite. It was originally suggested that Backlund turn heel and then lose to Hogan. Backlund didn't want to turn heel so they transitioned the title through Iron Shiek to Hogan. Backlund didn't really put the Iron Sheik over. They did the finish where his manager threw in the towel. As punishment for not going along with the Heel turn, Bob Backlund headlined the WWE "B" and "C" shows for about six months and then was gotten rid of.

Tony is a super nice man. We went to the same high school, although he was quite a bit older and I never met him till much later. He receive the key to the City in 1987 or 1988 and stopped by the school that day. He was just a genuine nice person.
