Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

At last a screen-free solution to kid's audio! But which one should you buy? In this video I run through the pros and cons of two of the big sellers the Yoto 3rd Generation and the Toniebox and help you to find the best one for your family. This is such a good video. I have just bought my 3 year old the Yoto player. I was worried I’d made the wrong choice. However, she seems to be really enjoying it. She especially loves the free toothbrush timer. My only negative is that I wish the Disney/Pixar cards I have purchased had the songs as well like I think the Tonies characters do. I think she would have loved that. Perhaps the full story cards do but I have not been able to find that out from just their website

It’s presumably a licensing issue, but apart from that as you say Yotos are great! 😁

Thank you for the camparison. That’s all I needed. We have toniebox and I’ve noticed although it’s perfect for my 2,5 yo it’s started not to be enough for my 5 yo. So I know what my next shopping will be 😍

This definitely seems to be a repeated theme! One of my best friends daughters has a toniebox and she has just turned 5 and I had a message last week saying a Yoto is on her shopping list for the same reasons

The 3rd gen Yoto (the one in your video) has a 24 hour battery. The 2nd gen was 10.

Thank you for this review! In your opinion, I have a 1y and 5y and definitely leaning towards the Yoto because of the range BUT do you think it’s just advanced for a 1yr old? I know that my 5y old is still very careless and will leave it around the house and the baby will grab it/drop it/try to eat it lol. Do you think if I get the jacket it would be an appropriate gift for both ages?

A lot of people ask this question and I would still go for the Yoto, I remember with my kids it feels like they are going to be young forever, but SO quickly you’ll have an 18 month old… and then a two year old! And if they do destroy the cards (they are pretty hard to destroy) you still have access to the audio on your phone so can play direct or burn onto a blank Yoto. I reckon your one year old will get the hang of it quicker than you expect!

I would still recommend the Yoto, it has so many more features and I use the app to turn my daughter’s box off remotely more and more, but I welcome input from anyone reading this who has first hand experience…

Really appreciate this video. I was leaning toward doing the Tonie and then inevitably getting a Yoto later. This confirmed it and we'll likely be getting a Tonie for Christmas. Have you ever looked into a Jooki?

We are trying to be phone free as much as possible....my 9 yr old asked for a Tonie as he loves stories and loves figure....I wanted to buy my 9 yr old a Yoto as I thought it would have more potential for stories and non fiction better suited to his age. But I'm put off by having to faff around with am APP. I really don't want yet ANOTHER thing to do on my phone around my kids. I'm trying to be OFF my phone. Can the Yoto operate without me doing anything on an app? Can he just play the cards on it and that be it? Perhaps I should just buy a cd player!

Yes, you don’t need the app! I only use it when I want to turn my daughter’s Yoto off without going into her room! Don’t buy a CD player (speaking as someone who bought one for both kids!) the CDs get scratched and they’ll all end up in landfill eventually!

@@CandidClara thanks for this. My kids love the Disney stories and especially the songs. I've been told that the Yoto versions of the disney stories don't have the songs on them - do you know if this is true? My kids are 6 and 9.

How do you put podcast on a Toni’s box

  • @CandidClara

Download an episode to a computer and upload to a creative tonie via my.tonies.com. Not all websites have the option to download but Fun Kids, BBC and NPR do. You can also buy a Tonies podcast character which automatically updates with the Tonies podcast (a new thing since I recorded this video)
