Yoto is by far the best. My 2-year-old has zero problems handling the buttons and completely independently can choose cards and exact tracks within seconds; an essential aspect of the yoto not mentioned here is that the tracks can be easily navigated by icons on the screen, which does not exist in any other player. The cards are convenient and focus on what is essential - the audio content - rather than offering some toy to play with at the same time. It is so easy to navigate that there is no limit to the complexity of the content or length a card may have, which means it grows with your kid up to the age of 10-12. It's the exact analog of a Walkman back in the 90s but without needing to know how to read. It's an absolutely brilliant invention. In terms of price, you cannot beat having 10 cards for 20 bucks that you can use to put whatever content you want as many times as you wish. You can make it as cheap or as expensive as you feel like.

I chose storypod over tonies because of the plush features of the pod and crafties . The catalyst for looking was to get something my kids could take to bed. I also liked that storypod wasn't limited to Disney and it has book options. The academic and emotionally focused content was a BIG factor in purchasing

what is storypod? does it have songs and make your own cards?

We have had all three and we love our Storypod the best! There is such a great range of content and we love that it’s educational. We didn’t like the hard figurines from tonies and we felt that a lot of the content was overstimulating. Yoto is good too but so far my nieces love the Storypod the most ❤️

Thank you. I think I'm leaning towards storypod. It can be used by all kids 1,6,7 so it grows well with my youngest, has a variety of media, and I LOVE that family can record on it. I plan to have the grandparents record on it so my kids will have all their voices sinces they live so far away.

We have both the Toniebox and Yoto Mini and if I had to pick again I'd probably do the same and get both. Toniebox figurines are nice and my son loves them, but the Yoto Mini cards are just so much easier to store. We mainly use the Yoto Mini in the car with the Toniebox used at home.

I’ve heard many parents doing that! They leave one in the car and one at home. I found that recently though my son has really been enjoying the Yoto a bit more since he can use the wireless headphones with it at home.

Don't seem to have story pod in the UK yet. But maybe soon!

I think that the fact that the content keeps playing on the Storypod even if the craftie is removed is a MUST for small kids. OBVIOUSLY they are going to want to play with it. And they’re machine washable!! The app is great and I can use it to control playback on the device which is handy. I also love that storypod will grow with my kids, we currently have crafties, books and the recordable stickers, but I can’t wait to use the trivia decks. I wait for the sales and get more content at great prices!

I love how you note that the storypod great for little hands/little kids. I find that the fact that it doesn’t have to stay on is a big bonus. My son has autism and loves having that tactile feeling in his hands with the crafties while he listens or dances to the content. Also love that you can machine wash the crafties and they come out looking new. I just wish they had more “familiar” content, but as the company grows we will probably see that. Getting the Tonie soon so I’m excited to see how that compares in our house hold.

My daughter really loved the little crafties as she loves playing with dolls and the crafties softness fits right in! Not sure how all the brand royalty works, but as you said I assume they're working on getting more content as they grow. Hope your little one enjoys their Toniebox! They've been really good recently at releasing a bunch of new content.

We love our Storypod- we chose it for the interactive features that the other players don't have- we love that we can do fun quizzes with it!! The educational content is really the best part

I have the story pod, and i choose it because of the interactive features. And I don't like the hard plastic figurines. I am so happy with it, because my baby loves taking it around and dropping it everywhere, its very durable,

It is extremely durable! My daughter has dropped it multiple times as well as the Crafties and they pretty much still look new. The Tonies have probably taken the worse beating with the paint chipping.

Why doesn't anyone bother to do a worthwhile review. To compare the really important things?! For example volume, the quality of the sound that comes out of the different boxes? Or to think about which option would be more suitable for children with reduced hearing (not deaf children, but with reduced hearing). I'm not saying that these comparison categories aren't important either, but please let's agree that it's not all about money or subscriptions.

With an easily frustrated 1 year old - I'm likely going to get the Toniebox for his 2nd birthday or Christmas this year. He loves reading and Pixar so it seems like a no-brainer. Did you find there was an adjustment period for your littles with the Toniebox?

The Yoto player is so far beyond the other two in quality of content. Because Yoto allows you to put any content on a card for only $3 a card. And if you own a printer, sticker paper is cheap and you can make sticker covers for the cards that reflect the content, unlike Storypod and Tonies. And I believe Yoto and Tonies are both easier for others to record messages, because they can record in any app/program they like, and just send it to you, and you can upload it.

We have both the yoto player and yoto mini. We use the original player at night with the night light/ready to wake feature and sleep sounds. The mini travels everywhere we go with it. My son picks a handful of cards he wants to take. One being a myo. We use to label with a sticker label. My son is into mystery bags these days and loves taking 2 or 3 myo cards without labels and being surprised. I can literally add almost anything I want in it. I can switch it up as much as I want and the content remains in the app unless I delete it. We’ve considered the tonie box as storypod. My son is turning 10 so there’s not much content I feel that suits him Tonie has the National Geographic. But at $18 a tonie. It’s just too expensive. Storing yoto cards is much easier than figures. We use a pocket calendar to put them in and hang on the wall. If storypod had more content for older kids I’d consider it more as my son loves the crafties.

i have the toniebox. i think the figures and the box itself have such a nice toy-like feel, if that makes sense. im considering getting the yoto too, though, bc their library of content is so large. im stuck between the mini and the full size. the mini only has something like 16gb of memory to store content for offline play. im wondering how fast that fills up

Not sure how fast it fills but we have 35 cards on the Yoto Mini right now which to me is a pretty decent amount. I couldn’t find in if this was close to the max though as the app doesn’t seem to tell you how much room is left. At least not when the Yoto are offline.

At those age I would lean towards the Yoto.

I like that yoto uses bluetooth, but the storypod seems like more fun

They both have their pros. Yoto does tend to release content faster while Storypod has so many different activities.

Which one has the best audio quality?

It would probably be the Yoto 3rd Generation. The other two aren’t bad by any means but if you’re looking for best then Yoto.
