Sometimes when I would have a girlfriend over for dinner and drinks I'd ask her if she'd like to hear something sexy and romantic. "Sure", was the usual reply. Then I'd play this. If she laughed I knew she had a good sense of humor. To me, that's a keeper. By the way, the one that laughed the best and got the humor has been my gorgeous wonderful wife for 36 years come this April.

This song is another example of the brilliance of Shel Silverstein, who never received the recognition he deserved. He was a poet, a cartoonist a humorist and a songwriter all in one. Remember "A Boy Named Sue" sung by the great Johnny Cash? Shel Silverstein. The only thing this polymath couldn't do was sing. But nobody's perfect. RIP, Shel. I heard his recording of "The Great American Smoke Off or something to that effect. The basic plot is there is this girl who could smoke a joint faster than anyone can roll them. Then the world's fastest roller challenged the girl to the smoke off. Yankee Stadium was rented out and every seat was filled to watch the spectacle. There's a huge pile of the finest marijuana minus all the stems and seeds. The contest lasted for a year and the guy ran out of weed, and the girl was still wanting more. So she decided to roll the guy and smoke him.

I used lie my wife ,about liking country music,in deed I do !I also loved her!
To people getting offended by the song: It's a joke about men expecting women to do everything for them, then trying to figure out why she's leaving him. It's not meant to be taken seriously, so just imagine it like Weird Al Yankervoic's songs. They're made for comedy, not to be taken seriously XD
