Welcome to ultimate guide to the simplest yet most succulent pork ribs you'll ever taste. Tommy's got a foolproof way to smoke baby back ribs that will give you tender, tasty, and downright delicious results. This method is simple, making it perfect for anyone from first-time cooks to seasoned grill masters, classic smoked ribs that are juicy and packed with flavor every time you make them.
Ingredients:
- 1 rack of baby back ribs
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Granulated garlic
- Your favorite barbecue sauce (optional)
Preparation:
1. Preheat your Z Grills smoker to 250°F.
2. Open the package of baby back ribs carefully at the back to preserve the juices.
3. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
4. Look over the rack and trim any excess fat or dangling bits to square off the rack.
5. Optionally score or remove the membrane on the back of the ribs.
6. Season generously with a mix of salt, pepper, and granulated garlic.
Smoking:
1. Place the seasoned ribs on the smoker.
2. Let them cook undisturbed at 250°F for 2 hours without peeking.
3. At the 2-hour mark, spritz the ribs with a 50/50 blend of water and apple cider vinegar or simply water, making sure to cover both sides.
4. Close the lid and continue cooking for another hour.
5. After 3 hours, check the ribs and give another spritz.
6. Cook for an additional hour or until the ribs reach an internal temperature of about 197°F.
7. If you choose to use barbecue sauce, increase the smoker temperature to 275°F, apply your sauce, and cook for an additional 15 minutes to tack up the sauce.
Serving:
Once the ribs are finished smoking, take them out of the smoker and let them rest. This resting period is important because it allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, ensuring that every bite is moist and flavorful. Give the ribs about 5 to 10 minutes to rest. Then, slice between the bones to serve individual ribs. Now they're ready to enjoy!

    I don’t wrap my ribs anymore and they turn out great. If you like to wrap them, More power to you, but they can also be great unwrapped. 225 for 2 hours, 250 for the remainder of the cook.
