What a gracious man to do this for this young man. This boy will remember this for the rest of his life. Tommy, you are one of the greats my friend.

cool! that russian dude is very good....& though Tommy never gets "outplayed", yet he always knows exactly how to jam with different ppl 2 let them shine as well.....A living legend ! I'd bet this was the highlight of your life....a lucky day indeed.

This is just a small glimpse into the character of Tommy. He's not just one of the worlds greatest guitarists, he's also does a damn good job at being a humble and friendly human being.

The thing that makes Tommy an incredible artist is not just his playing and his love for music, but his love for people. I only wish there were more musicians like him in the world. He is the only musician and artist who makes my heart smile. God Bless that guy

@Harry Baals bruh be quiet. Tommy at that point was just trying to play a quick song with a fan in between his busy schedule.. Sure he might have take your unnecessary "joke" light heartedly, but it would still be tacky as heck and poorly timed. People like you who think you can just be rude and overly familiar with everyone who barely knows you and then just accuse them of not having a sense of humor for not finding it funny to feel like you're always right

Jeff Gray I have heard Tommy left Oz to specifically contact Chet Atkins in Nashville & received the same warm hospitality & recognition as fellow "Pretty good picker ", as Chet often described himself as, if pressed. 👍

That's because most of them can't do it without all their tech gadgets. Take away all the loud noise and the pedal board and you soon find out they aren't really that good. You can't hide bad playing with just a guitar.

@@shaunw9270 The CGP Tommy sports on his guitar is one of four (I IRC) that Chet bestowed. It means certified guitar player and is something Tommy cherishes.

Tommy himself shares with others and is never too big- What a stylish class act he is. And that kid is very good- he just made a lifetime memory! Tommy is surely on my small list of people I would like to meet.

I ALWAYS tear up when i revisit this video… tommy’s solo was angelic

All I can say is, "What a musical conversation....." Magnificent we know Emmanuel plays and the beautiful jamming with this fantastic musician from Russia just amazing. Now that is a wonderful gift Emmanuel has given to this young man. Simply delightful. :-))

i think this is a beautiful thing. not just the harmonies and the strings that are plucked, but the chemistry being shared between the two being put on display for the world to view.

That’s the coolest and chillest guitar player I have ever seen. I always see him take his time with fans. AMAZING I appreciate that a lot, he’s a patient man.

I had the honor of meeting Tommy at 2005 Chet Atkins Appreciation Festival in Nashville. Such a modest talented gentleman... The Russian fellow who played in this video is indeed a good player.

The greatness of Tommy Emmanual is not only his guitar playing skill but his willingness to let other guitarists shine and strive to make them sound as great as he can. Truly a legend.

Obviously this young man has a hero in Tommy. Imagine what it would be like to sit down with your musical, or any other, hero like that.

I only know one other artist who would do this - James Taylor. Another amazing man!

This is why I love Tommy. He's in it for the sweet music. Not hung up on money, fame, or egos. Just loves to play and loves to entertain others. How many other players of his caliber would do something like this and just enjoy it the whole time.

I still come back to watch this ever year since i was 14. Im 28 now. Tommy’s solo amazes me everytime. And such a wholesome, beautiful fan interaction. I’ll never forget the first time i watched this, i can only imagine how the fan felt when they recorded this
