    I would have loved to have seen more of her in this picture. She was great in this. And they had a lot of great actors in the cast. This movie could have been 4 hours long and it would have been ok.

    I feel so bad for both of them. She didn't know what she had and he didn't know how to deal with it. She had a hard childhood, so she left in search of a better life. Out of desperation, she ended up in an unenviable position, and when that last bit of hope was taken from her, she had no place to go.... Poor Mattie.

    I read that she died of an eventual overdose. They liked their "medication" in those days.

    Up until I saw this video, I had always thought that Maddie was cold and didn't care about Wyatt (particularly with the way she turned her back to him when Morgan died). This scene shows that Wyatt wasn't exactly a saint, either.

    Ravyn The truth about the Earps is pimps, which Ike Clinton calls Virgil in the poker scene and their women were all whores confirmed by Wyatt when he's introduced to the other wives.

    Ravyn he couldn't help being in love with someone else he could have slapped Maddie in this scene for hitting him but he never did Doc never hits Kate either so in my view that counts for something

    April Dannette Gosa Yes I know it was love. But Wyatt's first wife Dricilla wasn't a whore by far and as you say love covers a multitude of sins. Or did I say that. Lol I just don't understand her jealousy here and that might be why they cut it plus Danas acting wasn't that good here as in other scenes.

    I think this scene should have been kept in the movie also. One problem with the scene is that it implies that Maddies opium addiction was caused by Wayat being in love with Josephine. Maddie was addicted to Opium before they even went to Tucson. I used to work as a RN in psychiatry and chemical dependency. For whatever reason a person startis to use an addicting drug, they become addicted because the substance causes addiction.

    I am also pretty sure that Charlton Heston had more scenes in the movie. The fews scenes with Heston seemed have been a bigger part. A shame.

  • @Malcolmdeeb

    @Malcolmdeeb

    Heston wasn't in a lot of scenes because he was gravely sick during the filming. They essentially propped him up so he could say his lines. Sadly, he died just 15 short years after the film's release, never getting a chance to see it on BluRay.

    There's no way the bottles could have shattered. The only three ways that they could have shattered is if 1: Wyatt threw them on the ground, 2: the rolled off the dresser, or 3: he threw them into the dresser drawer

    "Yes, honey, I'll insult a decent person who has never done me any wrong just to make my addict wife happy." Maddie is dead weight, and the fact that Wyatt stayed with her as long as he did is a testament to his good character and patience.

    Yup, 3 years is quite a long time for a man who lived 80 years :) Hope one day your wife or husband suddenly comes up and say they have a new partner, I'll bet you'll say "Good for you, hon! Cheers!"
