Thanks very much Cindy. Yes, cheddar cheese would work, it won't have the Italian flavor. You might add some Italian season to it for the flavor. We really enjoyed this recipe and Calvin said that he would like to have one made with the cheddar cheese. Marie and Calvin

Good question. There is recipes for green tomato pie but most of them call for adding a little sugar. We love fried green tomatoes so I think that we would like a green tomato pie as well. Marie and Calvin

I intend to try this, Marie, because I love that combination and know someone else who would appreciate eating this too. By the way, tell Call that I made both his featured recipes on old-fashioned pickled eggs and the beet pickled eggs (I did add some sugar, though), and those are going into my permanent file in the event I have a hankering for them. They are both delicious, economical, and very easy. You just need a little patience to wait for the eggs to "ripen." Thank Cal for me -- I heard his voice. Bye, now.

I also forgot to mention that I have two cats too that I got from a friend who was giving away kittens. Got them last December, and one of them is a tuxedo cat, somewhat similar to one of yours. The cats are a brother and sister and look very different from each other. They eat a lot. They also have a habit of finding dead birds and lizards, bringing the carcasses inside my patio area, which generate a lot of ant activity. Awful.

Looks delish ! Some time ago went to a friend if a friends house and she was going to prepare a squash pie. I thought oh good,might taste similar to a sweet potato pie. It was a layered,frying pan casserole of squash and don't recall what else. Just ate and enjoyed without a word ! Woops,sorry for typos. Still learning "this thing" Peace and health to both of you.
