What a beautiful smile she had. May she rest in peace.
The late 70s early 80s were the last truly unselfconsciously dangerous times for rock music.Tom Snyder was an amazingly open minded guy to let these rock acts just be themselves. There is NO replacement for Wendy and the Plasmatics in todays music.Period.This frikken woman put everything out there on the stage. All these little petulant girly Hot Topic "rebels" need to watch a REAL rebel perform. She was making this shit up as she went along not reading from a script.W.O.W forever!
I was umpteen years old when I first saw this. Wendy was a guilty pleasure. Richie Stotts was an amazing guitarist.
I love Tom Snyder! Thanks for the videos!
For me one of the best punk bands of the history. RIP Wendy.
Oh man this is so good! Tom was obviously having a good time. His used car salesman bit at the end was hilarious. So glad shows like this preserved the alternative music scene back then when most of America was oblivious to Punk.
Wendy was the genuine article. She was real, that's her on stage! A towering talent and pioneer for freedom and true diversity.
Easily one of the best things I've ever watched! And she was so well spoken and had a great smile.
RIP Wendy O Williams. These interviews are great!
Omg!!! Saw her do this in a concert video but never imagined Tom Snyder would allow her to do it on his show. Just amazing!
This woman changed my life 4ever, nothing compares to Wendy.
Love Wendy. Talking solid sense, rocking out and having fun.
The full interview along with a couple of songs. Spectacular!
I worshipped her when i was 17. She was effing 🔥!
Boy do I remember watching the tomorrow show at 1 in the morning. I wasn't ready for the Plasmatics yet, but he had musical acts on and it became a hip show, if unitentionally. The joke was Tom admittedly new nothing of the acts. I remember the closing aerobic tapes too.
Wendy O Williams was such a wonderful person. It is the same with Alice Cooper, wherein they had this wild uninhibited display in their performances that sometimes might have made a person wonder if they were disturbed or not. The fact is that they are intelligent, creative and articulate. Wendy is my hero. May she rest in eternal rowdy rock and roll land.
Such a down to earth beautiful soul she had
Love you Wendy. Forever missed.
I saw this the night it aired. Met The Plasmatics behind the Vogue in Indianapolis. Wendy was sweet.
"the human race/nailed to a cross/nailed to a cross"!!!!!!! W.O.W
