I remember this boy with the sweet and cute face and sings about sorrows. I wondered what makes him so sad cause he was funny charming and confident. Now he is a grown man and I see true sadness at times like I am sometimes. But that makes us the same. I feel so connected to you and your songs have different meanings now. Great. I’m sad now. In a good way. In a way that feels like I’m sitting with some one who feels the same.

It's 27 May 2022. After too long time of feeling like a sh*t I finally decided to do something about it and now, two days before my 35 birthday, I'm sitting at psychiatrist waiting room for the first time in my life. I'm stressed. I scroll through Facebook to kill time and I see a new song of my favourite Tom Odell. I don't wanna be sad anymore... Right there, right at that very moment. It's been nearly two years. I still feel sad from time to time, sometimes I hang on by a thread, but I'm much better. And this song reminds me of the best decision in my life - I let someone help me.

I was married for 14years..we had a child..when we split up I went to the beach and saw lots of families...parents with their kids ...and I was exactly like this song ...feeling sad and heartbroken, wondering why it all went wrong and looking at the families wishing I was happy like them again and grieving what I had lost and why I couldn't move on ...I felt like I had a hole in my chest

I don't think that happiness is an actual feeling that people have for a long time.... Most if not all of us fake being happy in front of others but deep inside we are all miserable and sad.. The words of someone who is tired and exhausted with sadness. I feel like Tom when I don't have strenght to do things. I'm just wondering how they manage to be happy?
