Came here to see if anyone else said this!!! I discovered the song through Spotify autoplay. it was just playing in the background so I didn’t really pay it any attention, but then this climax came and I was BLOWN AWAY and had to listen to the song again from the beginning and actually LISTEN. Sitting on my bed on the morning of my 40th birthday I was shocked, I felt bereaved, the life I thought I might have when I was older had not happened, I did not have any more "when I grow up" left to squeeze my hopes in to. It was a hard moment. I'm in my mid fifties now and just quietly amazed that I'm "old" and everyone hears that number and thinks of you as old, but it still feels like me, except my mother is in the mirror more often these days 😕 Stay happy fellow Tom lovers, stay happy Tom 💕, stay happy passers by that arrived here by accident, you may have just found another love.

This song shall never die, its got such elegant and beauty, his voice is amazing and soft, and the piano is like a dove flying in the sky, the guitar keeps the rhythm, it's the king keeping everything and everyone in pieces, all together it makes perfect harmony, this song is everything so full of emotion it's insanely unreal it's full of life.

"its all in my head, its all in my mind. I see the darkness, where you see the light" hits exponentially close to home for me. my heart opened up slightly from hearing that and it broke me down hard I don't think I've ever had a lyric do that to me. that's a powerful line that a lot of people can understand but not a lot can relate to.

This song is such a beautiful reminder of fearing of being out of place and missing out on the things in life you think you're supposed to enjoy but you truly don't and you you've pushed yourself so close to the edge trying to fit in thinking it'll make you happy but that you don't recognize yourself in the mirror. That becoming infatuated by someone you want to become does nothing but bring despair to your life. It's The end of the week and the weight of all the days fill you up but you've finally gotten a chance to relax and everything drowning you pours out. You finally let go and you realize you're different from a week ago. You crave the body or mind you had at the time. You want your body to change in the blink of an eye. You find comfort inside this safe space which is simply an illusion. You have no idea if you're able to trust anyone, even yourself. You fall Into this spiral of questioning your reality and not knowing who you are now.

This song has been so present in my head the past days... weeks even. Thank you for sharing these raw words with us. As always, a true masterpiece. This song especially is so relatable. Thank you for saving me a million times with ur songs.

I think it’s because of the style of music. Most people wants to listen to music that is positive/ radio hits/ music that can be listened to over and over without negative feelings attached. For example Ed Sheeran is so successful because he is amazing at what he does but his music can be listened to over and over without feeling sad. Also he has very easy melodies and can be remembered / sung almost immediately after first listen.

It is such a strong powerful wave, I’ve been fighting for so long, wanting to be in the light, but the darkness is dragging me down. ‘What is happening to us?’ I fought for so long but I am in the depths. It is attacking every cell in my body. I gave it my all. But all I do know is that I am exhausted. Completely and utterly. Depression is a disease that is ‘all in my head, all in my mind’. I am fighting, day in, day out. ‘I look in the mirror.. what is happening to me?’. ‘I want better skin, I want to be perfect’.

@jessicarichardson458 For so many years I thought there was something wrong with me because I'm so different from the others, I don't enjoy the same things that the others enjoy, I don't see the things like they do. A couple of years ago I went to the doctor for a physical condition and somehow ended up taking antidepressants. I really understand what you said. I really agree with you and I think it's something really sad and heartbreaking because some days you want to get better, you want to "have fun..be happy" you try your best to get out of the darkness and be better. Then, there are these days when you want to give up because everything is draining you and you feel like it's consuming every single part of your body, soul and life. I don't know if it's going to get better, I don't know if we are going to look in the mirror without questioning what is happening to us, or if there will be something that makes us feel like we fit and that we don't need a better body, and that we don't need to be perfect. All that I know is that it hurts so much and that the existence of this song and songs like this one can make us feel less outsiders and less numb or paralyzed.
