The whole interview was worth it just for the Jimmy Stewart story. I adore Tom Hanks but I LOVE Jimmy Stewart.

EVERYBODY loved Jimmy Stewart❤️. I have seen most of his films, and was lucky enough to see him in the stage play Harvey when he brought it to London in the 1970s🐇.

Tom does a pretty good impression of an elderly Jimmy Stewart reminiscing about dear friends. He loved that horse, Pie, and had tremendous respect for him as a performer.

His jimmy Stewart was great! The voice wasn't quite there but the speech pattern and mannerisms made it

I could listen to Tom Hanks all day. He's a wonderful story teller and an American treasure.

He is the best. You have to look at his early movies in the eighties and see how they ooze with charm and panache. If you compare Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt or Tim Roth, all the movies are brooding and full of angst. Splash, Big, Bachelor Party, the Burbs and Dragnet. I've never seen the Burbs but I know it must be an oozer. He makes watching a movie without superpowers truly transcendant. He is greater than the others. This is why he leaves you with such an impression.

I grew up on Tom Hanks, I love his films. He’s proved time and time again that he’s among the greats. With that said, I wanna see him in more comedic films. Remember he did “The Burbs, Volunteers, Money Pit, Bachelor Party, Turner and Hooch,....the list goes on.....

Jimmy Stewart is one of the greatest movie stars of all time, not only of "It's a Wonderful Life". However, it is fitting that such movie was mentioned because the interview was made in December.

So excited for this movie, I wish my Dad was still alive to see it, RIP, going to see it with my son in his honor. Thanks you for being apart of it!💞

He shouldn't feel that way. For the past 30 years I've been expecting celebrity stories from him when he's on TV. I think as a star, that's part of your job to tell great stories about other stars, especially about the greats, like Jimmy Stewart. He's really just a witness to history for us.

I love Tom Hanks he without a doubt a great actor. He never gossip ,the need to say bad things.

Jimmy Stewart and Henry Fonda are two of the greatest actors that ever lived! They don't have actors like that any more!

Pie was the all time best movie horse. He understood when the cameras rolled he had to look his best, and he always posed with and for Jimmy. Jimmy did a movie called The Far Country. In it, there is a dramatic night scene where a riderless Pie was to walk straight to the camera with the little jingling bell on his saddle horn. Getting any horse to do this might take a month week of takes. They budgeted for 2 weeks for this. Ok, it's time. Jimmy stands by Pie's left shoulder, and explained the shot to him. Pie looks the whole situation over. I think Mann was the director, and he announced "Take One." Jimmy swats Pie's rear, and that horse walked straight to the camera. He only needed that one take. "Well, if he had a couple of lines, Pie might have needed two takes!"

Captain Kid: "No, Jethro, this is NOT Fake News."

I always start with the longest and then next longest and so on. Works for the most part excluding quarantinewhile which comes after the monologue before the interviews. Edit: I wrote this and then watched the next longest video and found out this was the second interview of three so I was immediately wrong. Lol

Funny, that was the very reason Tom was there to be photographed with Steward. Life magazines was making a series of portraits pairing old and new Hollywood greats that shared common on-screen personas. Both played likable regulars guys.

Interesting story about meeting Jimmy Stewart, and not a bad impression of him either. Looking forward to the new movie.

I heard jimmy stewart read a poem he’d written about Pie on the Johnny Carson show. It was really heartfelt. . I think he was the last of the real (and decidedly few) gentlemen of Hollywood.

You can tell Tom Hanks is a real actor. Even when he’s chatting through the computer he’s so aware of the camera. Look how he keeps approaching the camera, it has a real effect on his dialogue. Nice Tom!
