A lot of people mention his wealth as an important factor in his achievements. While money certainly does help, I believe its contribution is overstated. In my opinion, if every commenter here were a billionaire, not one would ever achieve half of what Cruise has. Most with his wealth would simply endeavor to live a comfortable life, as the vast majority of people indeed do. What he has accomplished takes such an intense combination of drive, ambition, passion, and work ethic that is so extremely rare.

See! That's "The Cruise Difference" right there! You, like many other people, are just "wishing". Tom looks and says, hey, I got an idea. The person he tells his idea to replies, Oh no, you can't do that! Nobody has ever done that. It's just impossible! And Tom replies, Well, I'm going to do it -- watch! And Tom gets it done -- and he then gets paid the big bucks. Yet Soy-boys and girls whine about "if only I just had [his] money ... then I would do it all too!" That's the point [of your failure], it's actually his money. He actually earned it. Where's yours? Why don't you go earn yourself mega-bucks? By the way: there are plenty of people with much more money than Tom. But guess what? None of them can do what Tom does. So, what's all this whining about Tom can only do it because he has the bucks to pay for it all. Get a grip; get a life.

Very good video and thanks for sharing these points. I had no idea his aviation skills ran so deep. I realized he was an airplane pilot, but did not know his experience in rotor and jets. While it does take commitment and dedication, along with talent to fly the way he does… It also takes $$$$ to achieve those dreams as well, which he has more than enough of to buy his way into. I began training in rotor flight over 20 years ago and had to stop due to lack of finances and have never been able to continue pursuing my dream in aviation since, but I hope that maybe someday there is an opportunity for me. Until then, I’ll keep watching his movies and dreaming of the aviation path.

I watched most of his movies and was not aware of this side of his life because most of the time I do not care for what actors do outside the screen. Also, I am not into action movies that much but this second movie is so well done. I was surprised! I hope Maverick gets enough recognition. It was fun to watch, exciting, and so well done.

It's always been pretty obvious that Tom is athletically gifted, with great reflexes, and seemingly the ability to do just about anything. Of course, if I had a gillion dollars and a lot of time on my hands in between movies, who knows what I'd be able to accomplish! Now, if he'd just kick Scientology to the curb, he could have his integrity too!

As a long time pilot myself, I'd say he is the real deal as a pilot, like Harrison Ford, NOT a poser. He puts his ass on the line in many ways, for real, much respect, with his money he doesn't need to but still does! I'm waiting for him to discover the world of STOL/fat tired flying/ off airport flying, seems like a good tie in for some future MI movie plot.

Although I have gone to see a fair number of Tom Cruise movies in the theatre, I'm not a fan. However, I can't help admirng his accomplishments as a pilot. Clearly he loves planes and flying. I got some fairly intense exposure to airplanes as a kid and I love them to this day, so I can understand his enthusiasm. Best wishes to him. Thanks for the video. It was quite interesting. 😎👍

@Tom Cruise I lived in Ft Worth, Texas, in the 1960's, not far from Carswell AFB. We were directly under the flight path north of the base so it was almost a daily thing to see B-52's taking off in groups of 8-12 plus a couple of tankers, I guess headed for Viet Nam(?). There were also B-58 Hustlers and fighters whose names I never learned. The swing wing F-111 was in development at the time and could be seen flying around. All of this was at low altitude because we were so close to the base. The base had an air show every year, and we could watch the Thunderbirds performing overhead while walking home from school. The most extraordinary experience was when they brought one of the X-B70's over for the air show in 1965. The local radio stations covered the plane's approach so people could get outside to see it fly over. My school was following the radio coverage, so when it came over we were allowed to go to the windows to watch. A few days later, when it took off to go home, again there was radio coverage. I was at my folks' business at the time. People poured out of the businesses to see the B-70 take off over us, all six engines roaring. It circled around once, then headed west. It looked like a big, white dragon. Later I found out that the B-70 that visited us was the one that crashed. I feel privileged to have seen it in person. The B-70, in my opinion, is the most beautiful, charismatic plane ever built. BTW, the Mustang is my favorite WWII plane. ❤️ Best wishes. I hope you get to fly for many more years.

I will never be able to afford my own airplane. That said, if I had the choice between flying in a P-51 Mustang and the aforementioned Albatross, I would always choose the Mustang. For the mere historical value of the aircraft. That said, I doubt I’ll ever have that opportunity. On the other hand, I have flown in a B-17.

You just have-to admire Tom. He is a fanatical scientologist but doesn't push it, though his movies I'm sure keep a lot of them warm. He has proven, though sometimes I wished he'd just do the acting he did like in Rainman & the Vampires movies because he is very adept at these to. I admit, the 2nd TG movie stunts are excellent, the actors that trained also e exceptional & thorough. I think the 6th gen encounter a little bit extraordinary given they speed & capabilities of modern aircraft & a shame he didn't fly the P-51 more. Overall, I was impressed & at the same age, I could not compete with his stamina. Go watch, its worth it just for entertainment. Rock on Tom! 🤘
