How Val Kilmer Really Feels About His Top Gun: Maverick Role

Ойын-сауық

After COVID-related delays, “Top Gun: Maverick” has finally hit movie theater screens, and the buzz around the new film is nothing short of amazing. Fans love the return to the classic days of 80s action flicks, and Tom Cruise has been praised for his return performance as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell. But there is one very special cameo in the film that has fans buzzing.
Val Kilmer was diagnosed with throat cancer a few years ago, and his fight with the disease cost him his voice. But it was incredibly important for Tom Cruise to have his friend reprise his iconic role as Iceman. Using impressive technology, the movie’s technical team managed to give Kilmer his voice back. Here’s how Val Kilmer really feels about his “Top Gun: Maverick” role.

We all knew that Iceman had the attitude and the skills to make it big in the Navy. But the reunion between him and Maverick added the final ingredient to the character, which was heart. The scene was very moving, and I couldn’t help but shed manly tears.

It really showed that Tom's got a heart when he insisted Val be in the movie or else. Honestly the part with Tom and Val was heartbreaking and very well done. I wish Val could have had a bigger part but regardless I was very happy to see him in the film Val Kilmer had always been an actor and person I've always enjoyed watching on the big screen. I'm so glad he's slowly coming back into the screen and that he's being considered for major roles. With the advanced technology that we have so far, there are definitely ways to give him an AI voice, maybe even a device he could wear around his neck to give him a capacity to speak and sound normal.

I will ALWAYS remember Kilmer in "Top Secret". that movie was such a send-up of just about every old war-movie cliche you could think of. to this day I can't think of that movie without bursting out in laughter. I was so glad to see he reprised his role in Top Gun: Maverick.
