I used to pray for the dude. I was living in Calif for quite a number of years and as we all heard these stories about whatever he was doing or whatever he was up to, I would think to myself, "damn, that guy needs a good friend to just offer a hand and help him along. And someone to pray for him to ask the Lord to set him straight." Of course I knew I'd never meet the guy but just the same, when I realized in later years that he was actually moving in the right direction . . . changed his way quite a bit . . . I prayed again. I thanked God for hearing my earlier prayers and for helping him get on the right path. I hope and pray he always follows that new direction.

"What's hard is to decide" Just because someone is struggling now, has struggled before, will struggle again or for the first time, doesn't mean they're a bad person. They are human. I've not been alive for very long, and I had my own addiction and I didn't understand it because I was so young and not really knowing what the world outside of home was like. I didn't understand a lot, but I understood enough to finally reach out and ask for help because I knew if I didn't, I probably wouldn't be here. When I reached out, I came to one person I thought I wouldn't want knowing what I was going through. But when I did. They listened. They understood. And the only thing I had to do, was tell someone who I both loved and cared about who loved and cared about me, and share a burden I couldn't hold anymore on my own. I let my mind rid its harmless thoughts, I let my heart be filled with goodness again, and I truly didn't forget who I was. I was just under a dark cloud for too long and I stepped away from it and found the sunlight and the rain and the beauty of life all over again. Years have gone by, and I know I don't have a desire to go backwards. I am more focused, sharper in what I need to do, what I need to decide, and I make clear to myself that if I'm going to do something, I have to go all in, can't have one foot out the door, otherwise I wouldn't be able to get anywhere. I'm almost 21 and I am going all in. I'm going to travel and I'm going to struggle. Instead of letting my struggles be obstacles, pinning me down, I'm going to see my struggles as a way to refine and uncover the diamond within my soul. I choose to see struggles and challenges, heartbreak and pain as the only path to who I'm supposed to be, I'm always changing, life is always changing, world is always changing, and that's okay. It's going to be tough, it's going to suck, but it will also be good one day. You're becoming a person you allow yourself to be, or choose yourself to be. Going through the motions or taking hold of the wheel. I realized this week that I truly have a gift, I truly have a power, and that's to do whatever I want, whenever I want, to be my best self, to smile and walk on, and not care if people see me or not. I am going to be who I've always wanted to be, and that is a good person, someone for my lite brother to look up to, to see as a good example in this world, to be a person that is needed in the world. I choose to be someone who cares and who does something in life. Who goes out and does the impossible, who does what no one else is willing to do or wants to try doing. I'm going to go all over the world, and I'm going to bleed and I'm going to burn and I'm going to work every day, earning my place as a human being born into this world. I choose to be someone I would have wanted to go to as a child. Someone brave, willing, strong-willed, helpful, hopeful, kind, humble, strong, happy, fearless, smart, nurturing, and loving, peaceful, patient, adventurous, joyful, courageous, outgoing, intuitive, insightful, inspiring, and other things alike. I want to be that kind of person. Thanks for this video. I love things like this

Most interviews I seen Robert Downey Jr. take part in he's always playing the cool guy, If there's anyone that could get him to open up the way he did Joe Rogan is it. He has this way that just enables him to connect with people and it's impressive to watch.

I take comfort in this watching where he came from to becoming who he is… i have let go. I have let the vices in my life take over & cant help believe in my position, its OVER… its never over. You just need to push to be a better you & i can be. I hope to conquer & move pass what my past has built me to be, to be BETTER than that. I hope someone else watches this & feel that overcoming feeling similar to mine. Its not over. WE CAN DO THIS!

I have watched Robert Downey for decades and feel that he has left a great legacy in the acting industry and would love to see him doing what ever he wants to do as he deserves it all. To go from the pits of dispair to king of the world in one life time is great to see and because he is an actor and has been in front of everyone almost his entire life, we all got to see him fight and win. Robert has proven himself to be a great man and I only hope I can do some of the same in my life. I live the human he has become and hope we all can become better people by watching him in what ever role , on or off screan, he choses to play. I love you man.

I frikken Love RDJ. I have been a fan and supporter of his through all of his years of acting, struggling, conquering, re-emerging, and succeeding. I cant tell you how many days I prayed for him to find the light and follow it out of his darkness and when I heard then saw his transformation I was elated. Before he “self destructed” I saw an actor with endless talent and so many days I thought what a waste he is making of that talent. Then to see him do the work to put the pieces of his life back together just brought me peace. Not because my favorite actor was back and magnificent but because he finally saw his own worth. Once he saw that he became so much more than he was before. I remain a huge fan of the actor, but even bigger fan of the man. He is inspiring and I am inspired.

RDJ has a way of speaking prolifically every time I hear him. Have been a fan since the 80s, and I can't get enough of RDJ. He could do a reality show, and I can't stand those shows, but I'd watch it as long as he is in it.

Gotta always have respect for Mr Downey junior coz he's been to the deepest , darkest depths of drug addiction & then HAD to pull himself out of it to be a " better version " of himself..... History tells the story of him going from " untouchable" in the film industry to where he is now...an inspiration to us all.....

RDJ is not just and actor/star, he evolved into a philosopher. The experiences he had in life, the decisions he made, the people he met all together made him the man he is today. As fan or RDJ and Tony Stark aka Iron man, even i wish to see him as Iron man one more time, to see him suit up, to see him kick some bad guy's ass, to see him work in his lab, to see him just be the super sarcastic Tony Stark would be a bliss. Thank you RDJ for getting back up and proving to the world that its possible.

This beautiful talented man suffered profoundly, & I determined to pray fervently & faithfully for him. Praise God, for answered intercession! I was moved & so grateful, each time he appeared on screen.....for I had been invested....after dedicating countless hours to praying for him. With his great success as Iron Man, his testimony is especially inspiring to all. What a legacy! A true redemption model! Bravo! If I may interject, regarding the phenom you both could not define, I'm certain it is the grace of God, of which you spoke. And may you ALWAYS be enveloped in it! Amen

I had a client who’s best friend is Robert’s wife. She said he’s the real deal. A truly great, great guy. And I believe that. I’m also in recovery, and there’s a depth to people who have danced with the devil. There’s a deeper appreciation for people and life. Not that everyone doesn’t have that, but we have…idk I guess a heightened sense of awareness. It serves as a reminder of how dark we can go if we don’t remain in a state of gratitude, which in turn makes life a little easier and sweeter.

One of my favorite actors and a heck of a man. I think the bad stuff he experienced made him a better person, better actor, better friend, husband/dad (not sure if he has kids to be honest), etc.. I always tell my kids you learn the most from adversity. It can kick your ass if you let it or you can fight and rise above. I have learned the times of great adversity were usually situations I put myself in. I could not blame anyone but myself. The danger of knowing that is self destruction or self destructive behaviors like drugs. We get so down on ourselves we hate who we are and what we stand for. Do not allow those feelings to take over. Deal with them in a healthy way. Taking drugs is not dealing with anything. Its an escape that leads to destruction of yourself and others around you. Be better than your mistakes. Be accountable. Make changes in your mindset and life that are productive and positive. Take on new challenges. Embrace failure and learn from it. This life is a journey. It is as much about learning about ourselves as it is learning about the world, if not more so. When you learn to love life, love others and yourself, you are capable of such great things like being a great parent or grandparent. It is really the bonds and relationships that are key for a fulfilling life (positive ones). Anything or anyone holding you back is a cancer so cut it out and move on. Peace out!

RDJ is 100% correct when he said; "what's hard is to decide". That's what people really struggle with, especially with addiction of any kind. It's the moment when you decide and tell yourself that no matter how hard things get, you will continue until you succeed. That's the actual struggle because up until that point you're not convinced or convicted yourself.
