We had no right to intervene in Vietnam, you just wanted independence from imperial powers. We were so caught up in our "crusade against Communism" that we didn't know what we were getting into. Your incredible will to fight and amazing strategy are why we as Americans lost the war. Congratulations on 45 years of unification, Vietnam, you deserve it. Love from America :) Edit: At least I know we actually lost, I don't buy into the whole "tactical retreat" nonsense. Just thought I'd put that out there.

Why are you glad a country went from oppressive Saigon rule to even more oppressive Hanoi rule? Not being able to criticize your government or hold other beliefs and arresting people for "violating" laws that if they had followed at the time would have been treason is not liberation. If the NLF really cared about liberation they would have set up a multi party democracy with free and fair elections and freedom of speech press assembly and religion and followed other declarations of rights from the United Nations

Wth is Canada? A country? o.k. My cousin go to the best university in Canada and doing super well then graduated he wants to work as a doctor but no hospital accepts him. Now he is a homeless man in Vietnam, he used his money to fly back to Vietnam, if I ever go to college Ima go to China or Thailand or staying in Vietnam. My uncle died in Canada along with his family, Canada is not even safe. People chose Canada as a ideal country but ok, congrats.

Not States of Vietnam, it’s Republic of Vietnam. There are two South Vietnam: Republic of Vietnam and Republic of South Vietnam (Republic of Vietnam and foreigners call them Vietcong and American call them Charlie).

To all of the Vietnamese people, North and South, it seemed like America was just trying to stop their unification, which we were, and people in the South rose up to fight. We had no idea who or what we were fighting. Even here in America people wanted to stop the war because it just seemed like we were just throwing troops in to stop something, which is also correct. That is why America lost the war.

The yellow and red line flag is vietnam south and the red flag with a golden star is north vietnam but there’s no more vietnam south because a long time ago if country’s had north and south they war but they stop now but in 1979 north vietnam took south vietnam so there’s no more south vietnam

Two South Vietnam bro. The first is Republic of Vietnam and they also known as America’s puppet government. The second is Republic of South Vietnam and the foreigners call they Vietcong or Charlie. The second annexed with People’s Republic of Vietnam (known as North Vietnam) and changed the name to Sociallist Republic of Vietnam (Vietnam at present). Shut up if you didn’t know anything.
