I can heavily confirm that the Franco Prussian war was simply a mouse fighting a cat and the mouse won.

Not really, Prussia was not fighting alone, all the German states came to Prussia’s aid and teamed up against France. Combined with superior tactics and mobilization, I would never have bet on the French winning even if did not know the outcome of the war.

@@Nrwspg No, the German states combined had a larger area and were more populated than all of France(in Europe) and also had better military structure, mobility(due to railroads), and better communication(due to telegraphs), the Prussian General Staff was the first general staff in history and unsurprisingly the best military central command in Europe at the time (many of the best and largest militaries today still use principles from the Prussian model). France was far less industrialized(due to a lack of natural coal mines) and not very well prepared despite being the first to invade due to a lack of organization. France also recently lost a war during the Second Franco-Mexican War, despite having support from other European powers. The French did reorganize their army in 1866, but that same year Prussia had defeated Austria in a matter of weeks. France had better guns(notably the Chassepot rifle and the mitrailleuse), but they had yet to be put to the test, Prussia had more experienced personnel from their continuous streak of victories. Look, all I am trying to do is show you my perspective of the war and that the French had way too many disadvantages to come out victorious.

Yup! My great-great-great grandfather fought for Germany in this war before emigrating to America after. We still have his unit citation, medals, & papers. Tough hombre!

@@candyneige6609 no in 1914 the French held back the Germans because they were humiliated so badly they actually learned their lesson in 1871, in 1940 the Germans broke through in 6 weeks, the blitzkrieg of France happened only once in WW2 meanwhile in WW1 one battle lasted almost a year and vehicles weren't advanced enough to get from Belgium to Paris in such a short amount of time while fighting.
