80s and 90s were the best ... not just in Japan but also here in Australia. Nowadays everything is shit, entertainment, food, and life in general compared to back then.

We teenagers will be saying the same thing as you in about half a century😂 2070s When I saw skyscrapers far above 600 meters and eccentric fashions: the 20's were good times👴

Thank you for this insight. They were certainly very advanced. What I noticed is that they are mainly very tanned with black hair! No pink or green hair! No unhealthy obsessions with looking "bleached white" as say, some South Koreans are. They look very bronze healthy and confident in who they are! Bravo love from the UK💛💚❤

@@UpscaledHistory It's a very narrow concept of beauty based on the euro-centric model. But thankfully this is now changing as many Korean men and women are marrying afro Americans, Indians and other lovely tanned complexion peoples. So that gradually their concept of beauty will now be much more expansive more all-embracing as they produce such amazingly gorgeous mixed heritage offspring. Visit Diannainkorea you'll see what I mean. A truly beautiful Korean/Afro-American family. Keep spreading love & unity in the world. Love from UK💛💚❤

@@UpscaledHistory You could be right. However when you look at videos of 'old Korea' you'll observe that many if not all of the "yangban" or noble classes were as brown as the peasant classes who worked in the fields. Take a look. There are many old photographs too depicting noble families with extremely dark skin. As Korea was the hermit Kingdom they had little contact with the outside world. What is clear is that in our times some south Koreans are obsessed with "whiteness" even resorting to plastic surgery to achieve this look. However there are many who embrace wider all-encompassing concepts of beauty. This is a good thing as all races and racial blends are beautiful and each person is unique. Many Europeans today actually do the opposite -they get a tan and some go to extreme lengths to achieve this look. Fascinating! I welcome the changes taking place in Korean society. I love people of all kinds- thank you for making these wonderfully informative videos. Love from UK-💛

I really don't know what happened at the end there with my typing. I said many Europeans get a tan and some go to extreme lengths to maintain this look. It's fascinating. I love people of all kinds as we are all beautiful in unique ways. Thank you for your informative videos. They are a joy to watch! 💖

What I would like people overseas to see is that the sidewalks are paved with asphalt. The reason for this is that during the student movement in the 1960s, concrete blocks on the sidewalk were torn off and used as throwing objects.

I remember in 1989, I was 5 years old. I was told it was 10 years in the future. The 300ZX Twin Turbo went on sale that year. To 80s kids, turbo power sounded like magic. Twin Turbo sounded like even more magic. I got the desire to visit to certain cars, video gmes, and robots. Back in 2018, I realized that people included Shibuya Crossing when they said Japan is 10 years in the future. My fear is that all I ever am going to get to see is cyberpunk dystopia. I joke that given the birth rate and IQ over there, Idiocracy confirmed.

All this really shows are people on the streets of Tokyo, almost all of whom are very well dressed. But interesting.
