最後の最後で、浅草十二階とよばれた凌雲閣が出てくる。これは大正時代末期1923年9月の関東大震災で壊滅し撤去された。 と考えると、この映像は大正時代の東京のありし日の姿だ。

でも1945年はそれが起きた。

素晴らしいカラー化の映像に感謝します。ただ、大きな問題があります。1920年代以前の映像が多いです。時代考証的に特に酷いのは、日露戦争の緒戦である明治37年（1904）旅順攻撃の映像まで使われている。こんな酷い間違いを覚悟してyoutube上のコンテンツを注意して見る必要があります。

1903年(明治36年)には東京の馬車鉄道はすでに電化されていたようだが映像の年代が20年くらい前のものなのか。それとも電化された後も一部馬車鉄道が残っていたのだろうか。

Images of Ryogoku Bridge, Ueno Park, Asakusa Sensoji Temple, Nakamise Street, Yasukuni Shrine, Tokyo Station, Otemachi, Nihonbashi Fish Market, etc. 4:00~ and 5:00~ Does anyone know the location of the video that comes out? Thanks for the great colorized footage. However, I have to say about major problem: much of the footage is from before the 1920s. What is particularly bad from a historical perspective is that this channel even used footage from the attack on Port Arthur in 1904, the first battle of the Japan-Russia War. We need to be prepared for such clear mistakes and watch the content on youtube with caution.

Why can I see these people from 100 yrs ago so clearly. But if I get robbed at the ATM tonight the footage is going to be blurry?

In olden times it took two men to porter a customer throughout city streets. The two-wheeled rickshaw too only one man and could carry more weight. Depending upon the age, strength, and stamina of the rickshaw puller, the typical speed could be between 3.5 to 5 mph. Plus a lot depended upon city congestion at the time. A rickshaw puller never walked unless city traffic and pedestrian congestion forced him. Otherwise if the way ahead was relatively open and fluid, the rickshaw man would proceed at slow jog. If the customer paid more, the rickshaw man would oblige by running faster. One book author describes a Chinese city scene in which a rickshaw man might be seen wearing a bright, costly, silk jacket. The local Chinese understood. A rich or wealthy customer paid the rickshaw man extra money to 'break in' a new silk jacket with human body heat and sweat, making the stiff, uncomfortable brand new silk jacket into a soft, comfortable, pliant garment.

This is the reason also why Zen buddhism took rooths in Japan. Because of the impermanence of the land. This also created the collectivism. We can see this to this day. That when there are earthquakes they build it quickly back up collectively. But when they work usualy when there is no crisis , they care nothing for the individual. People die of overwork and Karoshi. I have seen this for my self walking in Tokyo, people i suit can lay on the street sleeping. Because they are stressed out, for lack of sleep and rest. And the pressures of the life as a " salary man". Often pressured into alcoholism by their employers, by drinking several nights a week

Se llama arquitectura londinense de ladrillo rojo. Fue normal en Japón en las primeras décadas del siglo XX. Aún queda en Ginza algún edificio de esa época. La estación central es así.
