Imagine what would have happened if Sal took Jeff's hat off his head (since he said that his hat is comfortable on his head from 22:11-22:15), then he would turn into a mannequin which might make Sal happy and maybe she would have smiled that she got Jeff to be quiet.

It was funny how Jeff asked Sal if she never smiled in twenty years from 7:34-7:37 where after Jeff said that, Sam pointed to Jeff like he was saying "you tattletale, this supposed to be a secret between, you, Jodie, Muffy, and I." (Of course, Jeff probably doesn't know any better being a mannequin).

I thought that was Sharon, Lewis and Bram, but where was the elephant?

Some of the reasons Sal might not be interested in smiling ever by maybe getting a husband who divorced her and not being able to find any other man for her, or never once had a husband which she wanted, or maybe her parents passed away when she was a baby and lived and was raised in an orphanage by strict orphanage staff and was then told to leave the orphanage once she was old enough and then didn't know what to do for the rest of her life never finding a reason to smile having a bad life.

Why didn't the gang ask Sal if she got a divorce, or if she has clinical depression, or if she lost anyone she was close too?? Then they would find out while she doesn't smile. And they could tell her to see a counseler.

Maybe Sal had a divorce or never found a good lover and that made her bitter....

Is there a Today's Special movie in the works? What does the cast look like for the show that's come to life and on the silver screen?Is it set in Toronto,Canada and one other thing,if they have the mime lady ,which actress would get the role?Can't wait to see it.Bye.

Is the lady who was Jodie and the other cast members,Jeff,Muffy and Sam still around,except the mime lady Nikki Tilroe,who I might add,had such a beautiful sense of humor and again very sorry about the show's loss of a fine ,lovely lady.I would've loved to have met her,possibly date her.I would be one of many who would deepest sympathies to the show and her family.

Sadly Nikki Tilroe, our Mime Lady (she was also Beaver on Cucumber and several other TVO voices) passed away a few years ago.

How old was she? Liked when she tickled herself on that episode,"Smiles",then Jody,she could make anyone laugh,heck even me,I'm a very ticklish person too.She was so beautiful, I wish she wasn't gone too soon and met her in person,oh well,I t's a shame..I sympathize with the Mime Lady's Familia for their loss.

As a kid watching this on TV in the US I never noticed the abundant accented Os. "Aboot."

Probably during takes or not filming..Sal was smiling and laughing having fun with the cast!

My aunt who I have not seen in OVER 20 YRS is just like Sal here in real life...! This episode should be called "Sad", or "Depression". I wonder how many times Sal wanted to smile and laugh throughout this episode, but had to hold it together until the end??!!

Jeff or Sam or Muffy or Jodie should have brought a baby to the store to get Sal to smile! In the eppie "Family", Sam tells Jodie he has something guaranteed to get her to smile-a baby.

From 22:36-22:37, what does Sal mean that she doesn't have any friends? I thought Sam was her friend which she should have known especially from 22:31-22:35 Jeff was singing how he has friends who care where I'm sure Sam cares for Sal.

Sounds like Sal is suffering from depression

Can you find the Today's Special episode where Jodie is reading Muffy s story and the words"Give me Food" keeps coming in the story and she(Jodie) tickles her(Muffy)?
