One my great grandpa’s buddies had a donkey who everyone joked was a alcoholic because he would open the gate and come steal his beer if he set it down where the donkey could see

I’ve heard that when Toby approached Willie about collaborating with him on a song, Willie asked Toby “What’s the name of the song”? Willie heard the name and said yes before he even heard the song. Classic!

Sadly, Toby has passed away. Toby's music is great, no matter what you listen to. He also does one, "I'll Never Smoke Weed with Willie Again" I think you'd enjoy.

Toby Keith songs will live forever, the funny, the sad, the patriotic....

It's a soul patch is what that beard is.

So Toby called Willy to ask him if he would do a song with him called "Beer for my Horses" that title is all Willy needed to say yes.

When toby would do this song in concert, he had Willie on video for his part. It worked really well. I have five concerts worth of Toby memories that I wouldn't trade for the world. RIP Toby, and thanks for the memories.

Toby keith passed away yesterday February 5, 2024, may he rest in piece ❤️

So random fact is that beer helps horses sweat. So if your horse is having issues overheating and not sweating enough, a beer a day helps improve them. Vet recommended

You mentioned Scotty Emeric. He is the guy that sings I'll never smoke weed with Willie again with Toby. Scotty has a couple of si gles on his own that I really enjoyed. You ought to check him out.

Toby said he called Willie to ask him about doing a duet. Willie asked the name of the song. When Toby told him, Willie said "I'm in, I don't even need to hear it."

I love both those artists

Toby is improving but not much is being told about the status of his cancer. He is a major Oklahoma Sooners football fan (He is a former Sooner and luves just a few miles from OU campus) and has attended every home OU game this season, and a few away games. He also played a few songs at Jason Aldean's concert in OKC recently. He is one big strong dude and seeing him so thin now is jarring, but he is fighting!

Two of the greatest! They both do it their way.

Beer is actually better for horses than water if they are working in hot conditions. Many racing trainers swear by it & many carriage & police horses who work on hot pavement all day are given beer. It contains sodium & calories from grain so it's sort of like Gatorade for equines. Any horse who's ever tasted beer will knock you down to steal yours. 😄

Horses actually do like beer. It was not unusual to give a horse some beer before a race until all the doping restrictions came about but it's still sometimes done after a race. Beer was also used by many old timers that had actual working horses and was sometimes recommended by veterinarians for some conditions.

My uncle had an old race horse that was just a pasture horse then. He'd come over to us and take a bottle, turn it up and enjoy 3-5. As a 19yo, I thought it was the funniest thing ever! Lol

Willie Nelson gave a friend his first joint. He didn't even know who the guy who was driving was going to see, next thing he knew they were walking up to a house and Willie answered the door and handed him the joint. (Normally I wouldn't believe stories like that, but a) it's Willie, that has happened more than once in the Austin area and b) I've been with the friend when musicians came up to *him* to say hi.)

Prayers for Toby, a great human as well as artist. You should watch the movie Stagecoach (1986, there are 3) with Willie, he's Doc Holliday, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings. It's a good movie with a Helluva country star lineup. Once Upon A Texas Train (1998) Is a great Willie western comedy drama also. Willie just makes a movie well worth watching.

I was crazy about this song when it came out when I was a kid. Hard to believe it's as old as it is. I remember going to my cousin's around the time it came out and my uncle was trying to teach me how to download and burn the song onto a CD. The burning process didn't work out for some reason.

We saw Toby, Willie and Scotty in concert all at one time and this song brought the place down. Luckily the smoker's lounge area outside was right over where the Desert Rose and other buses were parked. It was an interesting night.

Willie is really a good actor, And if you like music videos with horses try HOLD ON PARTNER, a duet with Clint Black and the legendary Western movie star ROY ROGERS. Rogers starred in dozens of western movies in the forties and fifties and had many hit records. And Clint Black was a well known country singer with many hits. The song is a tribute to the old classic western movies and TV series and the actors who made them. Although Black and Rogers were not related, they look enough alike to be father and son. Beer for my horses is because horses (and dogs) LOVE beer. Sadly the hops in beer isn’t good for dogs, though, but most dogs can have a small bit at least once in their lives without it harming them.
