The mannequin in the video was actually a real woman. If you watch right at the end, she gives a wink. Plus, the interviews with Big and Rich talked about the making of the video they talked about her and what all it entailed for her during the filming.

This song was inescapable for months after it came out. Suffered from overplay, but it still is a banger. It pretty much describes a regular farmer after the harvest, and he gets paid. They can literally walk into a car dealership and but the most powerful truck they want and pay in cash. Overalls and muddy boots and all. Clearly this fella had cash to burn after presumably buying any needed equipment and the seeds for next year. Work hard, play hard!!

Ali ALWAYS looks amazing! 💯% There are quite a few "dirty and fun" country songs. If ya look deeply at many you'll find humor hidden, or hinted at, in most of them. Country music is often meant to be light hearted and fun! Great reaction to a fun song!

Once had a coworker that walked into the warehouse and said angrily said "My God!", due to a frustrating customer. I turned and replied, "Yes, my son, can I help you?" Knowing my Christian upbringing he looked at me in shock and said he couldn't believe I had said that. I told him that God has a sense of humor and he questioned how I could be so sue. I replied "Oh, He reminds me of his sense of humor, every morning when I get up and look in the mirror." The coworker began laughing and went back out to the customer in a far better mood.

My grandfather sailed the iron ore ships through the Great Lakes up into the Saint Lawrence Seaway. He survived the "White Hurricane" of 1913 on Lake Huron, where eight ships went down and bodies washed up on the shores. I couldn't discuss the Edmund Fitzgerald with my mother as she'd become angry. Her father was gone half of every year and there was always fear. Those lakes can be very cold and very treacherous.. I spent several years on Lake Michigan but it's changed so much since then. The Ojibwe my mother knew no longer live in the woods. The ships are safer, but ugly. A developer came along and removed the wild swan flocks from the Grand Traverse Bay, and replaced them with Canadian Geese to attract more hunters. The Edmund Fitzgerald seems a folding point to those times. Seb, go to the Great Lakes. They can freeze mid wave in winter and reflect colors of the Caribbean in summer. Some local lakes are so clear you can see the bottom. Some are so deep and cold you can sink down and never return to the surface. Traverse Bay is chicer now, but the lakes remain, and the Lakes and Motown are two of the greatest treasures Michigan offers.

It was first created as a way for unknown artists in Nashville to build an Alliance in hopes of helping all of its members to become successful in the industry.

I met John Rich outside the Bluebird in Nashville before a show we were both there to see. I was waiting in line on the sidewalk in front of the club and his car pulled up and his driver dropped him off and instead of just going in (which he could have being who he is) he waited in line with us and took pics, signed autographs ,etc . I thought that was cool of him.

the bridge this video was filmed on was brand new and apparently was not meant for that much traffic at one time, or was not meant for actual cars or horses to be on, or something like that. the city of Nashville sued or threatened to sue Big and Rich for all the damage that was caused to this bridge during the filming of this video. but yes the video is very different from most country music videos period. the very last shot of the video, which i know you missed, it showed the "mannequin" up close in the face and the eyes move and look into the camera.

You would understand more of there music if you read a little on there background. They had a tour with a lot of different people and they called it the Freak Parade. Was Big and Rich,Gretchen Wilson,Cowboy Troy and some others. They are/were a HUGE party whenever they were all together. John Rich has a bar/restaurant in Nashville and is part owner/developer of a brand of whiskey. They have a song called 8th of November..OH MY !!! You should review it. Also Cowboy Troy has a song you need to hear " If you don't love me" I get chills just saying the name. Cowboy Troy has some funny songs also like "Chicken with a train". I also belive he was one of the first artists to coin the term "HickHop" of course referring to rap mixed with country. Love your channel and Blessings to you and Ali and your girls ...

yeah this song is just fun! Lovely to see Ali with you. In all seriousness, as Christians we can take ourselves too seriously. On the other hand there is a lot of exploitive stuff that demeans folks, especially women and we need to work on avoiding that. Does this song cross the line? Not the lyrics. The video? Up for debate. But I like that you and your lovely wife are enjoying it together. I'm sure you rock a suit or a cowboy outfit equally. So would she. Much love.

Great reaction! If you like steel guitar you should check out “Larkin Poe” two sisters and one plays steel. Blues, rock, country! Amazing covers and originals, pick anything, it’s all good!

Interesting vocals. One is singing and the other is talking the words. Ya, I remember this song.

If you like banjo and wanna hear a guy play killer jazz banjo.... even uses a wah wah pedal on it at times..... check out a band called Bela Fleck and the Flecktones . You won't be disappointed. Every song they do is consistantly good because they are all good jazz musicians. Kurt from Maine
