I am an exchange student, and I am excited and thrilled about your videos! They have helped me talk Dutch with my host family. I have managed to integrate myself in my school, even though in the beginning I felt like I was an Outsider. I really like Dutch people because they are very punctual, caring for the environment (cycling, recycling, planting trees, etc.) The thing that I want to tell everyone that moves or plans to move here is that you have to approach Dutch people first as they have a tendency to be shy with new people especially coming from another country, also, I don t really understand why but they walk with their shoes on all time in the whole house and in my country I'd probably be killed by my parents if I do. Also, they don't really wash their hands before eating and after using the toilet, and they are very honest with you which makes things very uncomfortable sometimes. Whoever reads this, I wish you luck with your journey here.

I want to live in Amsterdam in the near future. Timing is still uncertain, especially due to the pandemic, but I want to prepare in advance. I currently live in California, but grew up in Germany as a child, and generally like learning languages. Thanks for these bite-sized lessons. They are just the right level of difficulty, especially the contextual quizzes.

I have cousins in the NL (my parents were born there), and I aspire to moving there this fall if I can organize everything. I hadn't learned about Het basisexamen inburgering before, so I am researching that. I am unclear if it applies if I am going on a work visa (which I will be), but I plan to study for it anyway. I just started to work on Dutch as my 6th language (the 5th - which is Hebrew - is work in progress as well :p). Well I'm living in France (albeit currently living in Israel for my graduation research), and soon will go to Netherlands the 6th time in two years ;) All because Dutch art is my faith! Dutch art + culture is one of my passions. Also I think the Dutch are my people, very honest/direct, very organised, love to travel to strange places, etc. I'm 23 yo and I had a small non-career-related goal, that I'll buy a small house in the Dutch countryside (credits to Hobbema, Van Goyen, etc ;) before I'm 30. I'll sure be able to do that, maybe sooner than I planned! It's a sweet thing to think about.

I'm not planing to move to the Netherlands yet, or maybe I won't do it. It's too soon to make a decision. I'm just learning Dutch because I did some homework about the language and I found it beautiful. I have a Belgian friend and I can practice with her. 😉 I'll start studying a Master about English and Spanish as second languages to teach Spanish to foreigners. I liked the idea of having the title of "Nederlands als tweede taal". I'll think about it. 🤔 Maybe it's a good option to teach Spanish to Dutch people. 😍

I come from Norway, but my mom is Dutch and my dad is Norwegian. Im raised and grown up in Norway, but i never learned the Durch language by my mom. My mom comes from Deventer, Overijssel, but she moved to Norway when she was 11 years old (1990). Therefore im interested in learning Dutch.
