I love this episode. You're so funny. I was into the Frankfurt School and Walter Benjamin in college too. I think every other line is highlighted in thosebooks. I'd curl up with Minima Moralia at night, sad little hermit that I was lol. I still have all the books.

And your subjects today are way above my pay grade… noiring lately Ellroy’s Brown Requiem, Dan Marlowe One Endless Hour, Willeford’s Understudy to Death, Parker Bks. 20 & 21, and LBlock’s When the Sacred Gin Mill Closes, now starting James Ross They Don’t Dance Much, although Confederacy of Dunces is beckoning me….glad I never made it to grad school 😁

hey scott...guess what, well your bath buddy from toronto, just got covid....and 2.5 weeks after i got my 6th shot (with flu shot), and survived my 10 day trip to london, the return of my wife from taiwan, only to be felled this weekend....and yes, no fun...as someone who actually studied philosophy at Pitt and Yale, take it from me, Phenomenolists have no place in the bathtub...maybe some of Heidegger and Hesserl and sartre....but forget Merleau-Ponty....better to read the novels of french romain noveaus...and as a poet, ive never warmed up to HD....prefer other of her colleagues novels...but she was an inspiration for Black Mountain poets later (ironically)....anyway, i hope this covid phase takes a breather...ive got a manuscript to finalize and editor talking on the bathroom door....well, i guess at least my 6th shot is saving me from the worst of it...but nearly 4 years in, this wacko culprit sure is a pain in the ass....worse then the Tribbles on board The USS Enterprise....stay safe and HAPPY CHRISTMAS to you, your wife and Dodo and puppy, bb
