I saw this at the old Melodyland Theater in the days of Theater -in-the-Round, with Ruth Roman and Wendell Corey. I've never forgotten the passion and rage Corey brought to that role, just for a roomful of Orange County hicks. Wonderful memory. Salud!!

lovely vid Scott, lighting and all......I agree, Albee, along with Mamet, is my fave American bathtub reading playwright (though I hate Mamet's arrogance and. politics)...I too love zoo, a delicate balance, the goat and three tall women...I met Albee when I was a young college students, he could melt the pants off anyone, even a red-blooded straight dude like me, ...he could tell a story like nobody and he sure could write...and he was incredibly generous to young writers and artists....and for valentines, may I recommend fellow bathers read The Goat...a play which has some Albee's most beautiful and romantic lines...about a man who leaves his wife for a goat....ahhhh, America...p.s. loved your review in the new republic Scott....have a great halloween with the mrs...I mean Valentine's Day...may love bloom in the tub for everyone..happy Valentine's Day....bb...p.s. I'm still afraid, occasionally, of the big bad Woolf, especially if I haven't had enough unpixelated, mountain spring water.......;)

and Tennessee Williams is great in the bathtub....miller, too morning, and poor Neil way too long and I can't concentrate on him in the bathtub, though some of august Wilson (one of my fave writers) can be fun in the tub as well....ok, off to cook for my wife....

Have ever seen the Benny Hill parody of Who’s afraid of Virginia Woolf? It’s a real hoot.

I taught it often. always got the side-eye from the chair, though--as in, "What are you DOING inflicting this misery on da kidz?" hahaha. greatest play ever.
