Note: Trekking the World 2nd Edition is a signficant redesign. The original core mechanic (set collection) has been replaced by a new one (drafting an itinerary each turn), and almost every other mechanic has been changed too (I'm one of the designers - thanks for covering it!).

Sadly, the publisher used a “VIP” pre-pledge campaign, so I will not be backing it.

Artefacts is very unique, guess it's now or never to get this gem 💓 9 years to create this game, just stunning !

Yes I made a few games with Franck on TTS and I can say that all the components, all the mechanics and the lore are thematic. Each detail is chosen with taste and it's a pleasure to configure your own artefact, each time a different one, and try it in the arena, then modify it etc.

Did you cover Cysmic is a past to back or not?

I think Wednesday is a better day for this anyway, as most projects get launched on a Tuesday. By the time it’s Monday it’s already too late for things like 48hr rewards, or projects that only last a week.

Ya that's always been complicated. Part of the reason I don't like doing the new projects that launched yesterday, is often the extra few days can give me a lot more information on whether the games are liekly to hold their value.

Thank you for this video ! To me, the boardgame that seems super interresting is Artefacts. I checked their kickstarter and oh boy ! It looks so ambitious and so modular. Kickstarter exist to finance that kind of game. From a small publisher, made with the heart. 119 euros seems a pretty okay price to me though, in regard of its equipment and its super long lifespan.

Curious if you’ve looked at Effortless Prepping for Adventure. It just dropped on kickstarter. We played it at DTW and it was super fun!

Oof. That joke was pretty bad! Keep ‘em coming! I’m backing the phantom ink expansion. I enjoyed the base game, although I may have liked it more than the rest of my game group. Ah well. I was really interested in Ada’s Dream and Trekking the World, but I have a couple of pet peeves (subsidized VAT and pre-pledges) that save me money :) For next week, I’m curious about what you have to say about Odalin. I’m in for a base pledge at the moment but will likely drop it. I can wait a couple years for the 1.5 or ultimate version of the game.

Don't overlook Sovereign ^_^ Especially if you enjoy cardgames ala 4 player Netrunner. I'm backing that, and Odalin, and I'm keeping an eye on Kemet and Sirens.

Correction: The numbers you read for Ada were Pound not Euros which different to Euro vs DOllar is quite a significant difference.

Right, that's basically add 20%, even at perfect exchange rates. As opposed to euro... which is 'add a little'. Honestly, I'm pretty reluctant to back any heavy euros these days - it's just really easy to make a heavy euro that's merely 'good' and they're hard to get to the table, so merely good never gets played. I can't really tell the difference between great & good from the campaign page, so it's always a gamble. I do make exceptions if I had the chance to play the game at a con, but even then you can't be 100% confident (no way to know about balance and all that).
