TJ Turn Signal Repair

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

How to diagnosis and repair an electrical issue. This is on a 98 Jeep Wrangler TJ. Because of a sub-par repair moisture got into the connection and corroded the wire.

Thnx homie. I needed to see how to replace some wiring after my dog decided to use them as chew toys.

Great video. I've been wanting to see the PS100 in action before I pulled the trigger on buying it

Great video.....with just right amount of humor. I’m the original owner of a special-order 1997 TJ Sport.....which I don’t have the heart to get rid of, as I brought my youngest home in it from the hospital.....and all three of my kids learned to drive “stick “ in, and when I took delivery of it in Chesapeake VA, my teenage daughter exclaimed “Now you’re a ‘cool dad’, Dad!” (Geez......I always thought I had been!?!). Anyway, I am retired Navy.....and I think we used Waytek (or similar) connectors back in the Stone Age when doing inflight repairs on P-3 Orion’s during Soviet submarine-tracking missions. That “mini-torch” you used to heat-shrink the connection intrigues me....and any info on that useful tool would be appreciated. Bravo-Zulu on this video, amigo.....job well done explaining how to properly chase down those damned hellish electrical gremlins!

Thanks, I appreciate the kind words. The Torch I am using was made by snap-on, but you can find them now on Amazon. This one is made by power probe and has the same features. www.amazon.com/PPSK-Automotive-Diagnostic-Electronic-Adjustable/dp/B001DIE9BO?psc=1&SubscriptionId=AKIAILSHYYTFIVPWUY6Q&tag=duckduckgo-d-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B001DIE9BO

@@teop7887 Right on, TeoP! According to “Jeep wave” etiquette, those JK and JL guys....they’re supposed to initiate the wave (newer Jeep always waves first). It’s kind of like “passing honors” on Navy ships....so if done properly....you and I should be getting those waves! Keep on Jeepin’ on!

Great info, thanks. Cool tool I'll grab one. Using Black Butyl tape, pressed over your connections will add a weatherproof barrier for those times you see your headlights under water/mud...

My wiring is suspect in my TJ turn signal failure. Worked fine until I hit a deer in July of 2018. Now since then ive replaced by flasher unit and new bulb and bulb socket but markers or signal dont work. Thinking shock from the impact broke something in the wiring. Doubt its the switch.....but then again I could be wrong
