I lost 100lbs in about 7-8 months. Now regained 20. I’m on the struggle bus. I need to pick myself back up and not give up.

When u loose weight b4 u start eating regularly u have to eat to maintain the weight and if u were working out u have to continue then slowly cut down if u don't want to work out as much. Otherwise u will gain the weight back. Ur body needs time to tell itself this is d weight am comfortable at and this is what I need to maintain. Otherwise ur body will want to go back to what it's use to so u will have to invest a few months into allowing ur body to be comfortable at the new weight and function at that weight. I too struggled, I went on vacation to Japan and I went to see a nutritionist there just to see what they would recommend vs what am used to here in the U.S and I have no regrets because it absolutely worked. Also keep in mind that how ur body burns through fat has a lot to do with how u eat. If an orange is 250 calories and a slice of cake is 200 calories the cake is going to spike ur insulin higher and keep it there longer and untill it goes back down ur body won't be in fat burning mode so in order to not feel deprived I was told to designate 1 day out of the week where I don't over eat and go crazy, I eat the amount that I usually would but I get to eat whatever I want and because ur eating well for the other days it won't cause u to gain weight and u won't feel restricted. It absolutely works for me. I was also told that I could do fasting by skipping breakfast and start my eating day anytime after 1pm in the afternoon. By practicing to do that it eliminates snacking and thats how I got rid of snacking and when I started eating after fasting I made 1 of my meals raw or mostly raw. I do that with dinner and eat whatever for lunch as long as it's not sugar filled stuff. That way my body has more time to break it all down cause it's still day time when am more active vs dinner time when ur body is starting to wind down to go into repair mode. So I do a vegan dinner, if not then i add fish. I hope this this can help u too if u decide to try. If u over eat and snack fasting is the best and easiest way to fight it. And always have baby Cucumbers or just 1 big cucumber with mabe tuna mixed with mayo if u don't want to have cucumber alone to snack on when ur hungry. Drink a bottle of water with that and give urself 10. U will be so full with just a snack. Snacks can be filling if u choose them correctly. Also use less fruit in smoothies cause they have a lot of natural sugars which does spike insulin. If u do want a bit of sweetness toss some monkfruit sweetener in ur smoothie instead cause that does not spike insulin.

Fantastic weight loss. Rededicate yourself. You've worked so hard and you deserve to enjoy the health you've obtained. 👍
1. Be grounded, present, and in your body. *Check to see if you can feel your feet. 2. Pre-portion food 3. No distractions. 4. Put down the fork between bites 5. Make an Agreement with self. * Allow yourself to have more if you really want it 6. Wait 20 minutes between portions 7. Move/ Change your environment to reduce snacking or falling back into old habits 8. Practice - it's all a work in progress and be kind to yourself

🖤I'm turning 76 next month--is it too late for me? No, it's not! Thanks for all the tips :)
My biggest problem is comfort / entertainment eating. Hard to give it up when it feels like one of the few pleasures in my life.
Carla, I've lost 142 pounds. Some from grief after losing my parents and my beloved husband of 30 years. But now my doctor says I have 21 pounds more to lose. I suffer from sever neuropathy in my hands and feet. I can't feel anything but pain. So exercise is very hard. I'm feeling like this last 21 pounds is the hardest to lose. I'm diabetic and a junk foodie on some days, which I'm trying hard to not do. I'm not hungry all the time like I once was. There are days I don't eat anything till late afternoon.Which is bad because of my insulin shots I need. I'm a mess. I look in the mirror and I still see my 300 pound self. My friends and family don't understand this when I try to explain my feelings.I went from a women's 36W to a 14 regular. Sadly I still feel way too large. I'm listening well to your advice. Thank you so much for sharing your journey. ♡☆♡☆.

Wow! You’ve accomplished a lot! Congratulations!! Maybe your doctor is wrong? Maybe where you are at is a good place for your body. Just let yourself be and maintain for awhile and then decide if you would be healthier if you lost more! Do you know that people with anorexia still see a fat person in the mirror when in reality they are skin and bones! Look at old pictures of yourself and take plenty of pictures of your present self! Look at the beautiful difference and celebrate!

I'm a 190 pound woman... at one point in 2022 I got down to 170 pounds and I Started to feel really good, but then I gained weight again in 2023. Now that it's 2024 I'm really trying to change my habits and get over my binge eating disorder that i've had since I was really young. I will definitely be trying these :)
Thank you for emphasizing PRACTICE. I have a history of black-and-white thinking and perfectionism. When trying something new, it helps to go into it with the expectation that you won't be great at it in the beginning! However, it's also very important recognizing each win, no matter how small. Every time I leave the gym, on the walk back to my car I reflect on what I've learned during that session and what I could try out next time. Not only does it make me feel accomplished but also inspires motivation! 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Began watching you last week and you’ve inspired me to start now and not wait for new year. I’ve roller-coastered through the years and am now about 30lbs away from my goal and I feel like I’m mentally ready to begin. It helps knowing that if you can lose over 100lbs in a year, I can lose 30 🙌🏼

🖤 I am thrilled that I just recently found your channel. I am 336 lb. I did lose 76 lb at one point from my highest weight of 358 lb, but it climbed up again, and lockdown didn't help. I have watched a few of your videos, and your insights reinforce a few things I have recently learned about myself eg. intermittent fasting helps in my case and have learned many new ideas thus far. Please continue this channel...you may not realize how many people you're helping, like me!
Overeating in social situations is my main struggle, thanks for sharing. Love the Irish accent too.
I definitely think that rules and guidelines are a must for us who are food addicted and coming from a place of morid obesity . But yah, these are on point. Definitely tip 1. I use to go thru a whole bag of chips and not even enjoy them because i was in my mind and eating at the same time. 🖤🖤

I am going to save this video and watch it when I am slipping. Everything makes me over eat … happy, sad, anxious, … you understand. Putting the fork down is a great tip! I will try it! The pandemic and living alone makes me seek the comfort of watching TV when I eat. Waiting twenty minutes is also a great tip! Thank you Carla. ❤️ Suzy
🖤. I LOVE the tip about waiting 20 minutes after eating to see if you truly need more. All of the tips were great!

The tips to stop overeating : 1-be grounded 2-Pre portion ur food 3-no distraction 4-put ur fork down between ur mouthful 5-make an agreement that u can have more 6-wait 20 minute between finishing my last mouthful of my portion nd the next mouthful 7-move 8-practise
I have been working with a dietitian. I have learned that I ate too little during my meals and that was the reason I binged. So now I am learning to eat more during dinners and eat less during binges. I notice I don't have binges that much anymore. But emotional eating I hadn't addressed yet.. I'm planning to now. I like the tip to wait 20 minutes before eating again. And I tell myself; I can have anything I want in moderation... I also drink a glass of water or tea after each meal or snack. And I made it a habit to drink warm tea in the evening as a comfort instead of snacking.

What great advice! Thank for taking the time to share with us from your new subscriber in Connecticut, USA
Hi Carla - I’ve just subscribed to your channel after watching some of your videos. I can honestly say you’re the only one who makes any sense. I haven’t too much weight to loose but I always yo-yo with my weight & tried all sorts of diets.Everything you have talked about resonates with me so much. Thanks for your honesty and inspiration. You make so much sense. My downfall is not exercising and I know in my heart of hearts it’s what I need to do to make it better for me both mentally & physically. I’m now going to catch up on your other video’s, maybe not all at once, Bcos I need to move a bit, but thanks for being so genuine. It’s so refreshing. ❤️x
🖤 THANK YOU for your kind and positive approach - - and now going to look at your other videos, and have already subbed & liked! Desperate to emulate the change you have achieved - imagining myself at 9 stone as I was in my early 20s, when I am currently 18 stone at almost 60 seems utterly impossible but here YOU are, having achieved it - I'd be MORE than satisfied if I lost 4-5 stone but it's proving so hard ... for more than six months now I seem to be losing and regaining the same six pounds over and over ... But I will persevere with renewed enthusiasm having watched your sensible, realistic, self-caring approach - and perhaps be kinder to myself!
Hi Carla! Thanks for such open-hearted sharing. I love how relatable you are and your suggestions are so practical and cut through the BS excuses to get to the heart of excellent self-care that is part of reclaiming my healthy weight. I subscribed to your channel and look forward to making progress on my weight loss goals. Best to you and your partner on the arrival of your little one.

💕 thanks for these tips! I really love how you are coming from that place of mental health first - ie not a list of foods not to eat or do this, rather listen to your body and it’s okay not to do it perfectly every time.
You are an inspiration! Thank you!

Wow. This resonated with me so much. I'm so thankful to find your channel. You're amazing! I have about 200 pounds to lose & it is beyond daunting. But implementing these tools really makes sense to me. Especially the being in the moment of the bite you're eating now. Not obsessing over the next bite. I've binged on sweets where I get in a zone of just shoving cookies in my mouth.
