My Favourite Non Scale Victories | Half Of Carla
Celebrating Non Scale Victories is one of the best ways to keep your head in the game for weight loss. It's so important to celebrate every achievement you have with your weight loss and remember that it's not all about what the scales says, its about the impact of the weight loss on your life!

Soooo inspiring! One of my non-scale victories happened when I was sorting out my jewelry drawer. I started putting pieces in my lap and they kept falling between my legs. That had never happened before (and I’m 70 years old) so it took me a minute to realize the reason it was happening was because of how skinny my legs had become! 💗It’s all worth it!
I’ve finally started my weight journey, losing 27 lbs out of the 220 lbs I need to lose. My feet used to be SO swollen everyday to the point where I could only fit one pair of shoes on and I couldn’t wear any of my other shoes. And when I would put on shoes, it would be a difficult task where I would have to sit down to do it and I would be completely out of breath by the time I was done. My first non scale victory has been the absence of swelling in my feet for the past 5 weeks and being able to stand and put on my shoes just by slipping them on! I know it’s something so small to some, but it makes life so much easier for me now. ❤
I’ve seen up close what happens to people when they reach their advanced years without being physically strong. In addition to keeping the weight down, it’s so important to maintain muscular strength and flexibility, as well cardiovascular endurance. Putting in the work when you’re young pays dividends when you’re older. Otherwise, it’s a short hop from a cane to a walker to a wheelchair. Congratulations to you, Carla, for believing in yourself and prioritizing your physical and mental health. Best wishes for a happy, healthy delivery of your beautiful baby boy!
Thanks Carla I’m a size 20/22 as well and suffer with all that you mentioned … so good to be reminded to “Show up for myself”
Glad to hear this subject and find it relatable. I think I want to pay more attention to my own victories along the way that I’ve sort of overlooked in the past waiting to reach my goal and then getting discouraged. I did recently realize that the complimentary small bath towels at my gym could now wrap around my body for the first time (they are too small to be a cover up but wrapping one in one direction, then another on top in the other direction totally works and that’s a win I couldn’t do just a few months ago). The other thing I’ve been doing fairly consistently for years (which has helped me maintain weight loss even though I have more to go) is taking measurements which seem much more beneficial than just stepping on the scale. That was a big “ah ha” for me as I’ve lost 10”+ over times when the scale hadn’t even budged!
🖤Thank you for sharing your non-scale victories. You mentioned so many things that I have worried about and experienced as a plus-sized individual. I went to a large entrepreneurial convention this past year and was unable to fit into the seats because my hips were so large. I had to do the perching thing you mentioned, shifting from side to side so I didn't hurt as much from sitting on one side too long. That won't be the case this year when I go to the convention. I am convinced. You have further inspired me to continue with my wholefood vegan and exercise approach. Your example of what's possible is such a gift.

You are incredibly captivating! I watched your full weight loss video and it was right on the nose. My weight fell off the second I TRULY accepted myself. Before I thought I already did, but I basically manifested self acceptance by convincing myself I already had achieved it. Thanks for these videos!!! Much love to you and baby!!!

Thank you for your honesty and kindness. I didn’t think anyone else knew about it but a couple of weeks ago when I crossed my legs for the first time in years I was so jazzed and thinking that it was so cool while feeling so silly it was kind of embarrassing. The weight loss community is awesome.
Thank you so much for all the content you post here and on Instagram. You're incredibly inspiring and I especially love how much of a focus you put on the mental health aspect of losing weight. Congratulations on becoming this beautiful, happy and totally badass version of yourself (and on your pregnancy!!) You're really helping me with my own journey, thank you! Much love, from South Africa 🖤🖤🖤

Non scale victories (and tracking everything, not only weight)has been a MAJOR shift from me. Last week I got sick, and lost 1kg in a week. Past me would be thrilled, but present me is tracking body composition, and turns out... that 1kg lost was muscle, not fat. This week I gained 0.5kg back, but it is muscle, and I lost fat!! I've been consistent for months now, for the first time in my life, and at this rate, I should get to my end goal by the end of the year. All thanks to your videos, who kickstarted it all. Thank you so much!!!
I’ve lost 50lbs and I agree about #1! I was so happy when I realized I was crossing my legs and could relax and not have to hold my leg there the whole time. And I’m so happy for you about #10. Congratulations!
Omg thank you for this, I can relate to these so much esp the chair/seat one 😣. Lost 57 pounds so far (still a long way to go) and can’t wait for the day I don’t have to avoid places because of the chairs or google them to see what they look like beforehand 🤦🏻♀️.

I was so happy to hear you talk about non-scale victories in another video that I decided to start journaling the process. In the past when I've lost weight I have only focused on the number on the scale which ultimately lead me to being inconsistent. This time around though, I feel different about the process, it doesn't feel just like a phase or a punishment. I have the mindset that I get to eat all these healthy foods, and I get to celebrate all the victories, and that number on the scale isn't the only thing that matters. So I am grateful to you and your videos and I cannot wait to watch this video. 💚
🖤 I am just now watching this as I am coming to view more of your videos. I am going to start the program on September 20, and just got off of a plane from vacation with the extended seatbelt. I so look forward to those non-scale victories, you should be so proud. Thank you for your vulnerability and inspiration.🎉
🖤🖤🖤 thank you Carla you inspire us more than you know xxx
🖤🖤🖤 Enjoying catching up on your videos. Very inspiring! Thank you!!
Huge congratulations Carla!! I was 34 when I had my first baby too and went on to have two beautiful daughters. Collage and leaving cert babies now lol. Body slims was my life saver and have lost 40lbs so far. Another 20lbs and I'm happy. So true about all the little milestones especially the time I caught a glance in a shop window and didn't recognize myself. Thank you so much for all your help and great tips along the way. ;)

You are so inspiring. I am watching your videos to keep me motivated while I work back from a knee injury. Why did my knee give way? Well yes, I was doing karate, but I am also obese which put huge strain on my joints. Enough is enough. Thanks for your content and your focus on the mental health journey which is such a huge part of it

You are beautiful and so inspiring! You should be proud of yourself❤️ What I noticed when I put on weight was getting horrible cramps when bending down putting my shoes on, trouble pulling myself up out of the bath, my big belly popping over the top of my knickers and hardly recognising another angle of myself in a mirror; eg in the hairdresser’s!
🖤 Thank you for your inspiring videos!

Thank you for such great insight into life of a morbidly obese person. It makes me sad that in the US there is this push to not acknowledge the health issues and challenges of obesity in exchange for the notion that size doesn't matter.
This is the first time I heard the expression. I love it! A great way to see your victories while working so hard to reach your goals. Carla I love your accent may I ask where are you broadcasting from? Back to your video … so many things that you noticed and mentioned are shared by many of us. I feel that I am not alone listening to your videos. Thank you! See you next time! ❤️ Suzy

Fat shaming by svelt airline attendants is real. I recall having an anxiety attack waiting for a seatbelt extender. The attendant tossed it to me after using it for the safety demo. I felt so ashamed. All of these examples resonate with me. Regardless of how body positive one feels these are simply the facts - - many things are out of reach for the morbidly obese.
