Thx for video! And your website - super helpful. I found it this morning after being locked in from the inside. I was camping alone and out the lock in for safety. I jiggled and juggled and eventually it opened. But want to avoid this in future. Any advice on how to fix lock so it doesn’t lock me in again?

Hi Pamela! Thanks for watching and we hope our video was helpful. Which lock was it that you had to jiggle? Was it the standard door lock or was it the deadbolt? At night we lock both out of habit. If it's the deadbolt, something may be loose or out of alignment - I'd do a lot of locking and unlocking with the door open to see if anything is amiss. Look to where the bolt goes into the receiver. Are there scrape marks indicating an alignment issue? With regards to the standard lock, I know that we lubricate the grabber mechanism and springs once per year with WD-40. That might be a good idea. I've also heard that the door and locks can be finicky depending upon how the shell flexes if you are on a slope or on blocks. We hope that gives you some ideas. Let us know how things go and we hope to see you down the road someday.

@@LuvSubbin Thx for the note! It was the regular lock, not the deadbolt. I’ve never lubricated it (we have a 2019 - 19’ Flying Cloud) but will give it a try. I was camped at slight angle so that could have contributed. Thank you.

Thanks guys! So many modern Airstreams have that bed that lifts on struts that can be accessed in an emergency via the exterior compartment. Our Old Corps rig has boards that are screwed down so hidden keys are important...

Thanks for watching! Admittedly, many years ago we did have Airstream adjust the door as it was very difficult to close. This is common with Airstreams and if it continues, we recommend having that adjustment made.

The door on our 2022 flying cloud is also very difficult to close. There’s no way we could shut it with as little force as was demonstrated in this video. This proves to me what I have suspected since we took delivery: our door clearly requires some adjustment.

Thanks for watching and subscribing! We may consider that. The Luv Sub is the only RV we've ever purchased so we are not that well versed in the used market. Nevertheless, I bet we could put together a decent list... Regarding new, C and I have had that discussion. If ever anything happened to the Sub we would go used because many of the features of the new Airstreams are undesirable to us.
