What’s so sad to me is people go through all of this, years of school. Late night studying, Student loans, in debt, and can’t even find a job in their field. (Not just med students) however, So many students in the medical field are in for a rude awakening. My manager at my first job had a bachelors degree in science, my first job was at Walmart. Crazy. Smh. And that’s just 1 person, there’s so many others going thru the same thing. Smh

Ayaba Ayaba a science degree does not = the medical field, so that degree is unfortunately the reason a job can’t be found. People graduating from med school are not struggling to find jobs.

White Coat Chronicles I never said a science degree is in the same field as medical. Clearly it isn’t, I was making a point by pointing out how most people who have degrees aren’t even employed in their field. And YES jobs in the medical field is just as hard to come across. Sorry to burst your bubble, but that’s just the reality of the situation. As stated, So many of students in the medical field are in for a rude awakening. Just wait and see. Also do your research to verify my claim. Its nothing new. You will see

I agree in a sense........some med student graduates are lucky enough to find a job in a snap...and some aren't as lucky.....but this is with any career path.....it can be stressful because you think everything will fall into place after you walk across the stage..........but don't give up....Everyone's journey is different............if only there were more people discussing this topic on social media.......or even blogs.......but anyways ...I wish this young lady the best with your schooling... and in your future......xoxoxo GL ❤

Ayaba Ayaba i always thought all medical students at least in the United States and Canada are always matched to a school and even though some may fail to match in a specific specialty they could apply to less competitive faculties like family medicine. When it comes to medicine you will always be assured of a job but the only issue is that it may not be your desired specialty or in your desired location. I agree that you’re comment applies to almost most degrees but not really with an MD.

@@WhiteCoatChronicles It is true unfortunately ; especially if you're a person of color. My first job offer was 10 hours away from my hometown. The most depressing experience ever. A close friend of mine got a job doing what she loves ; not even 2 months after we graduated (I applied for the same position, she's not a woman of color) shrugs -Everyone IS different. It also depends on your state.

I’m sorry but I don’t understand the whole concept of med school ... so when you will be in med school , you won’t be able to have a job ???? Or really being a med school , you provide you with something that gives you revenues?

Brenda Nkem you can work if you want, but it’s very rare that students work because you simply don’t have the time. You can take out student loans for living expenses
