    Thank you, Richard, for the compliment and for loving Yeti. I’ve discovered that sometimes, even with changing your voice, a Samoyed is still going to do what they want to do. Case in point....Yeti normally loves filming KZread videos....until last night. Filmed 2 episodes and he didn’t want his treats, didn’t want to film, kept wandering away. I had to put his leash on him, because I needed film. Sometimes, Sammies are like 2 year old kids. Good thing Sophia listens if you change your voice. I’ve experienced, that sometimes, even if I change my voice, they know what you want them to do. Like, when I want to brush Yeti. Mind readers. 😆

    I’m glad you wanted to see if a Samoyed would be a good fit for your family. They are wonderful dogs, as long as you know how to work with them. Your little girl will test you over the next 2 years. Be patient, change up how you say ‘no’ because a Samoyed, starts to think that ‘no’ is a fun game. Bring her to puppy training so she can meet other puppies. Socialization is important while she’s little. Good job on starting a Facebook page. Sammy pups are the cutest thing ever.

    Had a wonderful Samoyed for 12 years.. great traveling dog.. went from Yukon to Florida from California.. he was a mellow dog and easy .. loved the ocean but only wading in water as fur will make buoyancy a problem.. Saved his fur after daily brushing for lady to spin and knit us sweaters.. wonderful yarn that sparkles.. he was a love to all others and great with kids and other dogs.. a daily walk was cool enough for him and he got over the puppy stage within a year and a half. .lots of grooming is critical with these dogs or matting becomes horrendous

    Hi! Question: do you need to brush out the fluff everyday? Or can I just do a 10 minute session everyday to prevent buildup??

  • @YetisPlace

    @YetisPlace

    4 жыл бұрын

    Their fur is thick and super long, so a quick 10 minute brush, wouldn’t do enough. It takes anywhere from a half hour (quick brush out), to 2 hours to groom a Samoyed. I don’t have the time to brush Yeti everyday, but I do brush him a few times a week, for about 45 mins to an hour and a half. Samoyeds have high grooming demands. They don’t get stinky and dirty though, which makes it easier.

    If your parents think you’re ready, you would be ready. They’re inside dogs, meant to live inside with their owners. They are wonderful dogs, who do become destructive if not given playtime and activity. A lot of grooming. Yeti and I are from Wisconsin, so I can tell you, Duluth would be a great area. They love the winters and are designed for them. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Be *very* careful brining your dog to a dog park, those aren’t regulated enough and can cause bad memories and trauma in a dog which can ruin confidence. My sisters dog is afraid of children because a 5yro chased her dog at a dog park, not a great quality for a pit mix in the suburbs Absolutely you should bring your dog there for exposure and desensitization training

    Thank you, Grace, for loving our account and Yeti. He is such a sweet dog. If you’re a full-time student, owning a Samoyed would be a big distraction to your college studies. They might not be allowed in apartment,, due to their constant vocal exercises (you don’t get to hear Yeti too frequently, because he’s so good on camera) and constant excessive shedding. If they’re bored, they eat your house and everything inside it. It takes awhile to effectively potty train a Samoyed. They’re large dogs, which many apartments don’t allow. I would wait until you’re done with college and own your own home. I’m sorry if that wasn’t what you want to hear, but I want to be honest. There are many large Samoyed channels, where they feature Samoyeds being cute, adorable Samoyeds. My channel, is about being honest and sharing stories about the breed with you, so you can make an educated decision about owning one. In time, you’ll be ready to own a Samoyed. Thank you for your question and for watching our videos, Grace.

    My mom is considering getting a Samoyed puppy. She grew up with 14 dogs and knows how to take care of them. We’re a family of four here (1 adult, 3 kids). All teenagers. We get back from school at around 4 pm-6pm on weekdays and my mom works from home. My sister and I are athletes so we do everything we can to get exercise daily. We’ll mostly keep the dog downstairs because we have wood and cool tile downstairs and carpet upstairs. We have an enormous backyard and patio. The patio has a fan and cooled cement (does not get hot). I live in Houston, Texas so it gets rather hot down here but we have central ac and cooled floors indoors. We also have a playground out back. There is a giant Cul-de-sac in front of my house for additional exercise space as well as a park and dog park a 2 minute walk away. Also, my mother and I are clean freaks and already vacuum everyday. We also have 2 roomba vacuums upstairs as well as downstairs so the shedding isn’t a big concern of ours. Would a Sammie be a good fit for my family?

  • @YetisPlace

    @YetisPlace

    3 жыл бұрын

    With the recent conditions you guys faced in Texas, wow, I couldn’t imagine how stressful that was for you guys. Keep in mind, Sams need to always be with their families. When you’re away from home, they do need to go in their crate. They also will always need to be on a leash. If they see a squirrel or other animal, they will take off. Sammy fur will kill a Roomba. Get a ShopVac, a Dyson, something that’s easy to take apart on a an everyday basis to untangle all the fur that would get trapped. During the Texas summers, only bring outside in the early morning, late evening, before the sun sets. They get really warm, really quickly and can overheat, suffer heat strokes. Be careful with a Sammy in Texas, during the summer. Dog parks are fantastic. There, you can unhook your pup from the leash and let him run all over the place. You’ll want to talk with your family, providing the points I’ve listed and any other questions for your parents. I do know Sams live in Texas and are happy with air conditioning. If your Mom has decided that’s the breed she’d like, they’re such sweet dogs. Just watch more of my videos, as they can be quite difficult to handle between 4 months and around 2 years old. If you know and understand how to work with them, that’ll make that time frame less troublesome.

    I've read that if you get a double coated dog fixed, the way they shed changes. One person described an intact dog as a "blizzard" for a few weeks once or twice a year, and when they are fixed, it's a little bit of snow all year long.

  • @YetisPlace

    Oh dear! Oh, that’s funny. So, I’ve been around neutered and un-neutered boy dogs. My first Samoyed, Chewy, was neutered when he was 6 months old. Epic shedder. Huge, massive clumps of giant fur balls year round, even after daily brushing. I loved him. Previous videos, have featured Yeti’s friends, Quimby and Bigby. Both neutered boys. Epic shedders. Yeti, is not neutered. Epic shedder. It’s a massive blizzard year round with either neutered or in-neutered Samoyeds. Even with professional grooming....massive blizzards. They are so hard not to love and adore though. Invest in a commercial workshop vacuum and wood floors.

    hi, so my family and i are set on getting a samoyed in just under a month, but i want to make sure if there's anything about my lifestyle that i could change or adjust to help out my upcoming best friend. so, i live in a medium sized house, with a fenced backyard, and there is always at least two people home. two of my younger siblings are about 5 and 6, but they are gentle and really love dogs. all of my family in the household has experience with dogs (my younger siblings have a little bit as well! they know how to handle medium to large dogs, since my neighbors and other family members have at least two). there is a dog park about 5-10 minutes away, and i will make sure to give my samoyed plenty of exercise. i live in alaska, and i don't have to worry about it being too hot, luckily. we have all hardwood floors, except in my parents' room, but the samoyed would sleep in my room, and wouldn't have much reason to go there. the house is almost always clean, and every place the dog would be is already puppy-proofed, since we kept everything baby-proofed since my siblings were babies. my family is fairly active, other than me and my siblings. we're quite a bit more active. i go out for walks multiple times a day on my own, so i won't need to change that too much. i will be the main caretaker of the dog, and i have a lot of free time everyday, so i can dedicate that to the samoyed. even if i am for some reason not home (and not with the puppy), my family is still willing to play with and entertain our samoyed puppy. is there anything that i should change or anything i haven't mentioned that i should add? i'll be glad to change anything to keep our dog safe and happy :) also sorry if this is long, i just really care and wanna make sure everything is good before we bring a new best friend home!

    Your Samoyed, sounds like they will have a great home. A few months ago, Siberia hit 100 degrees. There have been many times during the winter, when Alaska has been much warmer than Wisconsin was, during the polar vortexes. Alaska, however, is a perfect climate for a Sam. Yeti and all the other Sams I’ve known, get really excited when it snows. My first Sam, Chewy, loved chasing snowballs. When they’d land and disappear in the snow, they squeak, trying to find their special ball. It sounds like you’ll provide a great home for a Sam. We’re all apprehensive and nervous about providing good homes. Sams adore people and the more time they spend with their humans, the happier they are. You guys will be a great fit.

    So this is my first time looking at getting a dog. I rent a house with almost all wood floors (the upstairs is carpeted), live with 3 other roommates who are my friends. One of my friends has owned a dog before and he is a dog trainer. I work a weird shift 12pm-9pm but I was thinking of having someone come to the house when one of my roommates isn't home until 4. And then they'd be alone for a an hour and a half and then one of my roommates will be home. I'm not getting one immediately as they are expensive so I will be reading up and studying until then. I was wondering on what your opinion on me getting a Sammy would be and what should I really study up on. I do plan to spend loads of time with them and playing with them alot. The only time I'd really be away from them is when I go to work.

    Hello, DILLIGAF0828. I work the exact same shift as you. Yeti's Dad works 8am-5pm and comes home over lunch to walk Yeti. While your Samoyed is a puppy, it would be smart to crate him/her so they won't eat your house (crate train until 2 years old) and have potty accidents. You're smart to read up on Samoyeds and study their breed, as they're stubborn dogs who do not train easily. Extremely smart dogs, who love all people. Inside dogs, who are hard working dogs and need a ton of exercise and playtime. Otherwise, they become bored and destructive. Be sure to always walk them on a leash because they would run away. Study everything you can about Samoyeds. Talk to breeders, watch KZread about their breed, look at SamoyedClubofAmerica.org to view everything about Sams. Good luck to you!

    Xiomara’s herding instinct is on full display! Very special! She wants to sleep outside, instead of inside with her family? Is your backyard fenced in? If she sees a wolf, coyote, deer, or another wild animal, her herding instinct will kick in and off she’ll run. Be sure to also have her on monthly medicines to prevent ticks, heartworm and whatever bugs are in your area.

She did escape one night but returned black and wet about 30 minutes after I got up.. The gate was open so now I make extra sure that the bar is right accross. Thsi was just before she went on heat! Whils she was onh eat a local male followed us everywhere and camped outside our door overnight. That night I brought her in. He howled all night. By lunchtimehe had given up and gone. He was quite a pretty dog with one brown eye and one blue but she is not grantign her favours to anything else but a Sammy.. If you have air conditioning and walk with plenty of water during the morning and evening, when the sun is down. Sammies are from Siberia. Yeti gets very warm, when I’m in jeans and a sweatshirt. When it’s warmer, he cries when he goes outside, due to being too warm. I live in the northern USA, 3 hours south of Canada. We get very cold in the winter, with plenty of snow. Yeti pants l, even when it’s that cold.

We've owned two Pyrenees, a great dane and 3 other breeds throughout my childhood. We currently live in Canada which gets super cold during Autumn and winter. I am 17 so I still go to school, as well as my younger brother.... though my eldest sibling has graduated and had finished her schooling along with my older brother. My mom pretty much stays at home (she has a day home, so we have children around the house). I'm athletic and I enjoy the outdoors so I am looking for a perfect dog to spend my time outside with. So I’m considering getting a Samoyed. I’m gone from the home from 7-7 usually. I plan on leaving them free to roam the house (after they are old enough/can be trusted). I’ll have time for two walks a day. One before work, and one after. More activity on the weekends. Also, is their hyperactivity simile to labs as a young age? I should add that we have one cat and 11 yr old yorkie/terroir mix, so she wouldn’t be “alone” during the day.

  • @YetisPlace

    @YetisPlace

    12 hours is a long time to leave a Sammy alone. They should be crate trained until age 2, because if left to roam the house, they would get bored and chew an awful lot of your house and personal belongings. If you can have someone come let them out around noon, they would be more comfortable. A Sam’s activity level is similar to a Husky’s. It’s extreme. Much greater than a Lab’s. A Sammy was bred for herding reindeer and pulling heavy sleds. They don’t tire out. My first Sam, Chewy, had full out puppy-like energy until 2 weeks before he passed. Chewy was 11. Quimby, Yeti’s buddy, is 11 and a half. More energy than Yeti has, as Yeti is walked on 3-5 long walks daily. Quimby isn’t given that much activity. When Quimby and Bigby come over, Quimby doesn’t leave 5 year old Yeti alone. Yeti eventually runs into the bathroom, to get away from Quimby.

    One thing I have a question on is their desire to “hunt” and chase animals. As I look to bring a pup home to our 20ac farm, I want to try to stop those behaviors as much as possible while they are young. We have lots of squirrels, deer, and rabbits along with lots of other fun stuff at at night. When I take them in the woods on our property on hikes, is it inevitable they will always have to be on leash? Or are there ways to train them to not chase? I ask because I do a lot of hiking and stop a lot to mend the fence, pick up fallen tree limbs, and so forth and wondering if long term I’ll need a way to tie them during these stops or if they would stay with me (as an adult obviously I don’t expect this in the first couple years). We always had springers growing up and some would chase a deer and some would not. I always wondered what causes that drive to chase in some more than others. Again love the content :)

  • @YetisPlace

    @YetisPlace

    Sammies are bred as reindeer herders, they love hauling sleds loaded with wood, brush, etc. They were also bred to hunt small animals. You cannot remove what their DNA tells them to do. You cannot stop them from chasing those small animals, nor can you stop them from killing the small animals. Sammies always have to be on a leash, because the moment they see a small animal all the way up to deer and reindeer sized, they will take off after them. You can place them on a sled dog harness, or another type of harness. There’s also leads you can connect to your waist, so your arms are free. Keep in a mind, Sammies are extremely powerful dogs who can literally pull over one ton. If and when they see something they want….ZOOM, with you being dragged along.

    There are 2 body shapes to Samoyeds. One has longer legs, a longer, more slender body. That body shape isn’t as strong, but wow, do they love chasing and herding big animals. If there isn’t an animal for them to herd, they herd children and adults. The other body shape, is like Yeti’s. More boxy, shorter legs, a whole bunch more power and strength. Yeti has torn my rotator cuff when he saw an animal. He’s also planted himself in the ground, where I can’t move him, because he wants to go a different way while being walked. My first Sam, Chewy, had the longer legs, more slender body. We used to let him off leash while walking on a path. Then he saw skunks. After he killed skunk #2, we decided nope, no more off leash walking for Sammies.

  • @MLJenkins

    @MLJenkins

    @@YetisPlace I definitely plan to get some sort of harness for walking. I don’t like when dogs choke themselves when going on walks so I figured there would be a challenge with this. One thing that drew me to Samoyeds was their pulling. It’s incredible to hear that number of 1 ton, which I had seen before. I’ve never had a pulling dog and want to start learning all about training them for it, as well as when a good age to start that training to avoid risking any long term health impacts. I want to start loving winter as much as a Sammie! My plan was initially to take the puppy on short walks, even if I carried them some, around the edges of the woods where all the critters were to hopefully learn how they react and how I could learn to deal with the behavior.

  • @YetisPlace

    @YetisPlace

    Wait until their bones have fully developed at age 2 before you allow them to do agility, or any kind of pulling. As far as normal walks, there’s no need to have to carry a Sam. They will gladly ask you for more miles. You’d only be able to carry them for a few weeks, they grow so quickly.

  • @MLJenkins

    @MLJenkins

    @@YetisPlace oh no a skunk! Lol! The parents of the puppy I am on the wait list for are both shorter legs as you me mentioned and not so long and slender. That’s awesome to hear this from you because that’s exactly what I was going for but I didn’t really know how to tell if they would be better suited for pulling. The breeder told me so thought the male would be good at it but she had never done any pulling. We do have 2 horses and I was curious how they’d react around them. I don’t like dogs around the horses because if they are not smart about it they can get stepped on or kicked. Our horses are angels as they are older but I still wouldn’t trust them unless the dog was super smart to avoid them, and I figured with the Sammies drive to herd they would want to be too close to them for my comfort. Thanks again.

    Hello, Saga Wallin. Yeti’s buddies, Quimby and Bigby (both Samoyeds), were both neutered when they were 6 months. Since then, there’s been recommendations not to neuter until after a large dog turns 2. Yeti, will be 4 in December and is not neutered. When we bring him to the dog park with Quimby and Bigby, he does great with them. Occasionally, he and Quimby hump each other. They all love playing with each other and getting together. When another doggie comes to the dog park, we have to leash Yeti and put him in the puppy playpen, because he gets a bit too rough with the other dogs. It’s because he’s not neutered. Male dog dominance among other dogs, is something to watch for. Neutering helps, because Quimby and Bigby are fine around other dogs. Yeti, gets rough, because he isn’t neutered. If your dog is neutered, I would recommend dog training and talking to your vet. Your dog could be experiencing upset and sadness when you’re away from home, or some other personality nervousness, or perhaps a past experience with a male dog made them uneasy. Best wishes to you and your 14 month old. He’s going through those adolescent times, where he’s displaying dominance.

    If your Mom is allergic, PrinceWoo, I wouldn’t get a Samoyed, until you have your own home. All allergens from outside, get stuck in their thick, long coats and would give your Mom such problems. A Samoyed also needs to always be with their owner. If you’re not at one house all the time, your poor pup would have an emotionally tough time. Sammies have always lived inside with their owners, since the breed originated. They are stuck to people like super glue. If you’re not around them all the time, they become depressed, destructive and very loud. They need their humans.

Giant clumps shedding, 365 days a year. I’ve only owned males, so I know they love to play and have a lot of fun. Sams are gentle toward young children and the elderly. My first Sam, Chewy’s mother, was owned by family once she was done breeding. She was sweet and gentle. Male Sams are still sweet dogs, with bunches of energy. Sammies are talkative, but they use multiple vocal expressions that make it sound like they’re talking. Not a single mean bone in their fuzzy bodies.

    Oh goodness, you cannot train a Samoyed not to bark inside. They bark all the time, wanting attention, to play, go on walks, rub their ears, play fetch, etc. Even while they're sleeping, they sometimes talk in their sleep. You eventually learn the reason they're barking, because if you don't, they will start herding you toward the thing they want. Samoyeds are one of the most talkative breeds out there.

    If you'd like a gentle giant, who doesn't talk too much and is another working dog, you could look into Alaskan Malamutes. They're very big dogs, who have personalities like Samoyeds. Gentle, loving, need to be around people, love humans. You do have to be firm with letting them know you're their master. They do dig holes all over your yard. But, they're quiet. Their coat is shorter than a Sam's and it's oily. They're waterproof and like swimming. With any northern breed dog, with the pointy ears, they're all stubborn and extremely smart. It takes an owner who isn't afraid to be the alpha 'dog' of the pack. Yeti thinks of me as his alpha.

    Hello, I live in an apartment and I have to opportunity to get a dog. I was looking for big dogs, but I am quite allergic to cats and dogs, at least that's what the doctors say. Weirdly enough, whenever I'm around dogs, I don't sneeze or sniffle or anything. I want to get a samoyed because they are hypoallergenic. (I know, no dogs are truly hypoallergenic) I feel like I am ready for one. I can groom them a few times a week no problem but since I am a student, I can't really flex my time for walks. I can do about 2-3 hours a day. Also, is there any dander or allergenic shampoo you can recommend?

    Get some no chew spray from your pet store. It tastes bad to your dog. Spray that on areas you don’t want her to chew. With a Samoyed, they don’t like to play alone. They often want their owner to interact and play with them. Bring her on daily walks. Because she’s so young, you don’t want to go too far. Get a playpen for her to play in, away from furniture. To prevent her biting you, she’s really young, that’s what little puppies do with other puppies. She has those razor sharp puppy teeth. Continue helping (you have to communicate in the language she knows). Immediately walk away from her. And go beyond her playpen/gate. She needs to learn you will only play when she’s gentle. If she’s only mouthing you and not placing pressure with her teeth, that’s better puppy play.

    She a Samoyed, extremely stubborn, super smart dog, who doesn’t want to listen to what you want her to do. You need to constantly be changing up your ‘no’ game. Speak in her language. Understand her world from her eyes. Growl, while making your back appear larger. Make her submissive to you. You are the pack leader. It takes a very long time to train a Sam somewhat. They are the smartest of all dogs, which means they don’t want to listen to us. Keep her away from furniture. Get no chew spray and spray it all over the areas she chews. You would want to get a few different ‘flavors’ because they get used to one, begin to like it. Get a puppy playpen for her. Begin bringing her on daily short walks. This lasts about 2 years. Sammies are quite cute, but they’re stinkers and you must learn to communicate how they understand. You will constantly be saying no in different ways.

    A lot goes into owning a Samoyed. So much more than someone who greets you and cuddles with you. If it’s your first time dog, I wouldn’t recommend, due to their many demands of grooming, exercise, non-stop shedding and super intelligent they know more than their owners do manners. It would be really frustrating for you. As a second pet, once you have dog ownership under your belt, through owning another breed, then they’d be a better fit. Sammies don’t always sleep beside their owners. Chewy, my first Sammy (but not my first dog that I owned), would cuddle on my bed, or alongside the bed. Yeti, doesn’t come in the bedroom, as he prefers sleeping by the back door. There’s an air conditioning vent for the summer and the winter, the back door has a draft of icy cold, northern air.

    I don’t know where San Ramon is. Spain? Brazil? USA? They need air conditioning. Central air is wonderful. When I bring Yeti on his evening walks, he whines and cries, while on the way home, because he’s too warm. When he walks into the house, he lays right in front of the central air conditioning vent. After he’s inhaled a ton of cold water.

    Unfortunately Sammies aren’t hypoallergenic. Everything from outside and inside, gets dragged into your house, from their long coats. I also wouldn’t use a dog door for them, because it’s in their DNA to hunt animals and run free. Your dog would dart off and wouldn’t come back. Having another pet would provide a playmate. Hi Kurtaniuis21! Thanks for commenting and watching our video. You have wonderful timing! Congratulations on your upcoming bundle of floof. Oh, those fresh, brand new, baby fuzzies are just the best thing ever! I think you have a GREAT handle on what you will do. Crate training is a great thing, as they will not go potty while in a crate. The moment you let your puppy out of the crate, immediately carry your puppy outside, then lavish with praise the moment they go potty outside. If they have an accident, only tell them 'no' and growl, if you catch them in the act and bring them outside right away. If you haven't caught them in the act, don't discipline, but bring outside right away. Lavish with praise whenever they go potty where they're supposed to. Your habits will be much like my husband and I do with Yeti. We both work full time too. My husband comes home over lunch and lets him outside, much as you will do. We did crate train him while we weren't home and for overnight. Once he was potty trained and stopped chewing things he wasn't supposed to, we stopped crate training. We brought him to puppy school to socialize and try to train him. I also brought him to conformation courses (dog shows). Yeti, much like any Samoyed out there, got bored with puppy and conformation training. To make it fun, while you're practicing at home, make it a game. Sams love games. You will be a wonderful Samoyed parent. You have the right ideas. They have quite a sense of humor and try your patience. Therefore, be one step ahead, by changing up the training...a lot. They love the new sense of adventure. Best wishes, Kurtanius21, in your new world of fuzz! Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Hi! I hope you are doing okay 🙂 im thinking to get a samoyed at my b-day which is at January. Im a 7th grade student. And my mom is a teacher. She is afraid to touch dogs so i dont think she can look after her. I have no sisters or brothes. And my dad is at other counrty because of covid-19. My school is 45 min far away from my school. I go to school every day (expect weekends) but because of covid im not going.we have a medium sized house and a yard. I had 2 dogs and 1 cat before so i know about dogs. I also have a park which is 15 minutes away. There is always dogs there. Im 100% sure i will look after him. I will walk him and brush him. Do you guys think im ready for a dog? Because i really want a dog .i cant imagine my life without dogs :(

    Only you and your family would know if you’d be ready for a new dog. Samoyeds are very friendly dogs. They need a lot of attention and love. They get upset if a member of the family doesn’t want to pet and play with them. They’re active working dogs, who need a lot of daily playtime and plenty of long walks. Certainly time at a dog park, would help your puppy wear off excess energy. Sammies don’t have a single mean bone in their bodies. They love everyone they meet and want to be pet by everyone. You do need to bring them to puppy training and keep up on puppy training. You need to crate train your puppy, because they like to explore. Overnights and when you’re not home, they should be in a crate, until around 2 years old. Otherwise, they’ll eat your house. Literally eat your house.

    They do need a lot of grooming, multiple times per day.

    As cute and adorable as Samoyeds are, they’re not much for cuddling. They prefer to tease you and beg for treats, rather than cuddling.

    Hello, Jun Lozada. You should groom your Samoyed daily to a few times per week, to keep their fur nice and poofy and pretty. Great question! Thanks for asking!

    Sammies shed epically all year. 365 days per year and 366 on leap years. Most of the time, it’s only big clumps of fur. Twice, to three times per year, shedding is unbelievable. They lose their entire body size worth of fur. Coat blowing. It can be controlled with frequent groomings and professional grooming a few times per year.

    One month old is too young for someone to own a Samoyed. Your puppy needs to be with his/her Mom until 8 weeks old. Your baby is crying because it needs its Mom.

    Put down puppy potty pads. Growl at your puppy so they know when they’re doing something they’re not supposed to. If they continue, ignore the puppy.

    Of course you can, Rebecca. They do fine being left by themselves for 8 hours, if you give them plenty of walks and attention when you’re home. They do best if someone is able to let them outside during the day and they have a lot of fun at doggie daycare. Great question! Thanks for asking!

    In the USA, among top professional breeders and the large, televised dog shows, it’s pronounced the way I pronounce their name. Closest to their original Siberian pronunciation and closest to the Smiling Sammy.

    Where are you from? Do you own a Sammy? I’ve been around them for over 35 years and I’ve only heard it pronounced the way I pronounce it. I know it’s pronounced differently all around the world, just depending on where you are. KZread makes the world seem so much smaller than it is.
