In aussie, my roomate in hot teach me how to cook with rice cooker. Just put something heavy on the button down there n youre good to cook. She cook soup, tomyam, spicy chicken. We cook everything 😅😅😅 nvr buy food outside cz we muslim. Not easy to get meat or cooked food outside. Except vegetarian pizza

That is a good idea with something heavy. Porridge was quite hard to cook for that reason lol. I bet you have some fab recipes with that pot.

@@yesnomads we only cook Malaysian foods like coconut rice with sambal, ramen with cheese n egg, tomyum, veggie, deep fry. I’m sorry I can’t recall what she used for holding the button down. It’s not easy but since we got the right tool so it’s pretty easy for us. That’s 2019. So not practical anymore bcz now we hv electric pot ☺️🥰

Something we did at our motel near Disneyworld to store milk was after we brushed our teeth at night, we filled the sink with ice, put in our quart of milk and laid a towel over it. In the morning we used the milk in our tea and coffee and cold cereal. We would use the whole quart in the morning and then buy another quart the next evening for the following day. Saved a lot of money for our family vs going to a restaurant for breakfast for 3 of us.

Awesome idea. We always buy our food when we go on a trip. It's usually all microwavable. But this is amazing. I enjoyed watching this video to the end. Those eggs looks so delicious.

hah hah yes. i've been doing the ice bucket cooler thing for years when i don't have a fridge in the room. that said in some countries you may not even have an ice maker in the hotel. what i've done is just buy ice at a grocery store and threw ice into a plastic bag. I'll put whatever i need cold into that. just make sure you hide it from housekeeping or put up the do not disturb sign. when you want to save $ when traveling, easiest meal to save $ on is breakfast imo.

It can be very expensive to eat in Vegas. I'd never thought they might charge you if the room smells from cooking. I can understand that. Yeah, setting off a fire alarm would not be good! We find Amazon lockers super handy too. Using an ice bucket is a great tip. I have a tip for cleaning the pot. I have to be very skimpy when using water in our RV. I spray white vinegar into a warm pot and then wipe out the contents with a paper towel. Or, I will spray the vinegar onto a wet paper towel and wipe out the pot or clean a dish. The smell of vinegar will only last for a few minutes, it will not smell up the room like you might think. This was a great video. Thank you for sharing all of your tips! Happy Travels! Another tip, Cook in your in room bath room because they are vented and because of steam, they are not near smoke detector. You can also shut the bathroom door to keep smells down. You also then have a sink in most rooms.

Great tips! I have a lot of Food Allergies, so I have no choice but to bring and cook my own foods. I'm sure most Hotels won't allow you to to cook in their rooms. But I do so, anyways. I will refrain from cooking strong foods tho, like fish, onions and garlic, as well. I bring a small slow cooker and cook steel cut oatmeal overnight. I also bring a small, electric shabu shabu hot pot for making soups and rice. And an electric Kettle to make hot waterfor hot beverages, instant soups, etc. And I bring an electric skillet to fry meats, veggies, reheat foods, eggs, make toast.

This is our type of video! Food is always our #1 expense on any trip! Interesting to think food smell causes all that trouble! That pot would be perfect for us! We just recently stayed at a Town Place Suites for like $70 a night. It had a great mini kitchen that we never used. That's crazy things can just blow up from such different voltages. Can you send it to us when you leave? Just kidding. Thanks for sharing great video and very informative

Ah if we would have known then we could have sent it to you :) We have to stop one of our travels near your home one day. Yes, you can save lots of money on the road eating in. It is even as simple as just having a coffee at the hotel instead of buying one out which a lot of people do. Thanks for watching and have a lovely week.

Thanks for watching and for the warning. I don't think many hotels anywhere would allow in-room cooking unless they have a microwave like low and mid-range properties in the US do. We have done it in Oz - you just have to be careful about the smell and of course hide the cooker. Have a nice Sunday.
