Love how you listening to Ren triggers a great philosophical discussion...lolz

Forgiving helps the one who forgives. You are less burdened by the frustration which causes one’s anger so your in emotional turmoil. Aside from the “Lord, I forgive you.” (x3) bars the “Every thing I have been through is yours to hold” means so much to me. He letting go of most is the dark emotions his illnesses has generated. Not all obviously but to me this bar is so powerful combined with the three “Lord, I forgive you” bars. The part is raising his arms in praise and thankfulness that music has return to his life - listening, enjoying, playing, and most importantly creating if for no one else them himself. Thank you, Ren, for choosing to share some of what you have created.

Always appreciate your analysis. I mostly agree with you in regards to the end where he says Lord I forgive you. He was definitely bitter and lost faith in God. Now, coming to terms, seeing his purpose, Ren lets go of the anger and blame he had by forgiving him, turning things back over to him when he says it's yours to hold. That's my interpretation anyway. ❤

This young man truly sustained me through a very long and difficult season and this song brought it full circle since “Hi Ren”. I think when he says “Lord I forgive you “ he means that he accepts his struggles and pain and surrendered to it, understanding that this is his path to what he is today and what he came to this world for. Ren is a messenger , a guardian: did you noticed the word guardian almost at the end of the video?

You’re the first reactor to notice that “God I forgive you,” line. I saw it as just a pragmatic questioning. If God brings good, the. He brings bad. He’s embracing it and seeing a bigger purpose, but he’s also saying, “You allowed it,” and I forgive that.

Been eager for this reaction. He says bed tomb, all the letters of the alphabet spelled Doom. I also feel that Ren blamed God for what happened to him (I have) and the pain he had. When he had the stem cell transplant and it worked and he felt better, he forgave God for Losing all Faith as he felt stronger and healthier . He still has treatment for the damage Lyme disease caused. Ren is our Angel/Ambassador of Hope. Thanks for a good reaction

I love your appreciation of Ren's genius, and there's no question that he is an incredibly strong human, both physically and mentally. But ... there were actually many days - for years! - when Ren did NOT still get up, did NOT still make his bed in the morning. Because he couldn't. Saying that discipline and consistency will overcome Lyme Disease or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or MCAS or Fibromyalgia is exactly the kind of thing that contributes to the problem. People are told by doctors that there's nothing really wrong with them, that it's all in their head. They often feel shamed into thinking that it's something wrong with their mind, they're lazy, or crazy, etc. But these are neurological diseases - the diseases don't really care about strength of character.

Yet Ren overcame it... Telling people that they can push far past their limits regardless of circumstance isn't part of "the problem". Ren didn't overcome his problems by having people tell him "shame, it's OK to not be ok!" He got over his problems through strength of character and discipline and to ignore that is massively discrediting him. I know the whole compassionate position is cool and all but the reality is that Ren took action despite his strife. His mental recovery didn't fall on his lap out of the sky. Kind words and compassion goes so far.... But they don't get him up.... He gets himself up through fundamental principles: Disciple and perseverance despite the obstacles in front of you. I'm not a fan of accepting that people must just give in to their circumstances, and what I highly respect about Ren is that he didn't. Your position offers no solutions, mine has been tried and tested again and again and again... and works, Ren being your prime example. Not to say that kind words don't have their place, but they most certainly don't get you out of bed.

@@thefablesphere Ren's mental recovery DID just fall into his lap out the sky, though, in the form of this doctor who reached out to him to offer a free stem cell transplant. Ren didn't find this doctor, the doctor found him. I suggest that you watch his Chapters to get the full story. I don't mean to suggest that people should just give up hope. The mental fortitude to even just stay alive allows for the possibility of change in the future. And Ren publishing his video blogs allowed the doctor to find him, so yes - it's so important to keep going. Trust me, I believe in the power of the mind - I base my whole career on it! I just also have seen so many people whose family members and friends think that if they would only try harder, their symptoms would disappear. So the person winds up believing that they're sick because they're weak, or morally deficient in some way, which is not the case! And that shame can be more debilitating that the disease - it's paralyzing, and it's what makes people give up.

I just found your channel because I was watching reactions to Ren. It’s kind of fitting that I found your channel today and what you were saying about it just takes one day to be crushed, because I’m having my day as you were saying how you need to stay mentally strong and physically strong I was sitting in my car breaking down because it’s just that day for me. But you’re right you have to stay mentally strong anyway just wanted to say. Thank you for your insight because you truly helped somebody today, you helped me. So thank you. We can either be positive for somebody or a negative, and a lot of people are negative these days. You are definitely doing it right.

First off I love your reactions. I am curious as I listen to you and others talking about the grim reaper lines. I interpreted this as him making the most frustrated and damning of faith tracks at that time. I thought this was when he wrote “lost all faith” “Masocist” “wicked ways” “seven sins” when he was at his greatest despair, prior to the hope that came from the stem cell doctor. I thought he was talking about the “grim reaper” thoughts influencing his anger and frustration in his music. Would love to know what anyone else thought. I may be crazy. But again. His lowest point was 2015 and he had first stem cell transplant 2016, second one 2017. I think these songs were not written then. He said Masochist was written after he broke up with his management team, and Seven Sins was written last year not long before releasing Sick Boi. So far as I know, he remains agnostic and "lord" is not a specific entity such as Jehovah etc.

Moby used the a sample of #verahall song of "troubles so hard" in 2000. Ren is using the original that Vera Hall done about slavery & freedom in 1937 ❤️
