So I caught a glimpse in this video, of your brilliant hybrid woodfired/solar passive hot water system, that I saw over on Instagram… … And which made me exclaim, *Yessss* -You guys! Are my heroes! 😍 🙌 This is exactly what I’ve been wanting to do. I am finally about to start my build, and I am determined to do something just like this! I just don’t have the know-how to do such a thing. I am thrilled to know that you have successfully done it! And a little terrified about the potential pitfalls you mention, if I mess it up! 😱🙈 How do I do this myself?? 🙉 Have you created one of your invaluable and brilliant KZread videos on this process yet? 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I am awaiting your response with bated breath! If there isn’t yet one, please please would you prioritize that in your next video that you make, in the very near future? 🙏🏽 Please please and thank you!!

Ok so where's the video on running the plumbing on the inside walls? What does that even mean? We need visuals please. Also- I don't ever want to be hooked up to city sewer. I'd really appreciate a video on how to drain into a grey tank. No black tank necessary for me- I'll stick with composting toilet.

Thanks for checking in! COVID has required putting our efforts elsewhere this past year, but we’re looking forward to creating some more content in spring/summer now that we’ve lived in the space for a year - we’ve got lots to share on what worked and what we’d do differently in the next build!

@@actuallytiny2537 Glad to hear it! I'm about half way through my first build and wish I'd discovered your channel sooner. As always, so many things I'm learning and will do differently on that next build, right? Anyways, hope ya'll stay safe and well and looking forward to more of your content.

Would you ever consider running pex across the ceiling? My roof is fully insulated with polyiso and I'm inclined to install a 4" drop ceiling with Safe and Sound Rockwool insulation between the plywood and finish ceiling. If I ran my electrical and plumbing between those layers it would be better insulated (much more insulation in my roof than walls) and would require fewer penetrations in the studs. Thoughts?

The general rule with plumbing is that you always run your water below your electrical. You could theoretically run your pex anywhere you just want to make sure it's well protected so in 30 years when someone else owns the structure they don't unexpectedly puncture a line.
