I'd definitely want a sink, even if it's just a teeny tiny one (20x30 cm or something). Reason being, I use a menstrual cup and washing it potentially over the dishes inbetween uses... nope.

If I ever go tiny, a bathroom sink is a must. Personally, bathroom germs need to stay in the bathroom! As a woman, other things are considered, too. (See comment above.) I had a house built once. Our county would not approve a bathroom off the kitchen. We put a laundry room in between. That worked.

simplify is always a good practice, less is more... less bullshits means more freedom. I was either thinking at a squat toilet in the shower plate squeezing the bathroom to a square meter... weight reduction, plumbing reduction, gravity assisted cleaning, and free space for temporary storage. look at this pictures, this WC it's made in stainless steel and incorporate a shower plate, of course a corded shower head can be used to wash dog and stuffs or as bidet or as WC flush... www.google.com/search?q=squat+toilet+shower&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=eXm7jItJit_CYM%253A%252CGSXfJc8gmjGSEM%252C_&usg=__95a3U4NpvJm0HeWLWInGkIR2kb4%3D&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjk5-Sr4JzbAhVBWhQKHSxHBvwQ9QEwBnoECAEQPQ#imgdii=wekNk4ISd0o4IM:&imgrc=eXm7jItJit_CYM:

Rich Goldstone, if tiny houses don't provide for a certain level of sanitation, then the gov may crack down on the movement and builders. By those photos I see, with "dirty" hands from toilet use, you then spread the germs when you turn on the shower water to wash your hands. People often times subconsciously rub their eyes or grab some 'finger food' accidentally introducing those germs to their body. Flu season comes to mind! If you just rely on the kitchen sink, you spread the germs to the door handle and kitchen faucet handle. It seems we are going backwards after decades of improved sanitation. I prefer the bed and tub/shower to be places with **romantic possibilities.** Loft beds and toilets in the shower...Oh my!

Thanks, Shannon! I love how practically your plumbing system has been designed: side-by-side with sink and shower. Although I won't put one together myself, your design provides a great tool in speaking with builders "to keep things simple' for my future use and understanding. At 74+, my physical abilities are not what they were; however, that does not lessen the desire to have my own THOWs created with simplicity for the freedom it will provide. Your journeys over the past few years have definitely been exciting. Thanks for continuing to share!

Thanks for this video. I love the idea of having two inputs for water-one for the tank, one for the system! We're almost finished with our plumbing! We're putting the bathtub p trap outside and insulating it. Hopefully that works as my partner is 6'1" so raising the tub isn't ideal. Want to do an electrical video? 😬

Thank you so much for this video. This is the stage I'm looking at now as we build our TH. We have a composting toilet and my plans call for a propane housing unit outside in a bay area. I think most people put pipes between studs but I thought one person put some of that between floor joists??? If that was the plan, I'd have had to remove the subfloor and insulation to my already built floor :(

Hi Jenna, I noticed the fill tube for the 46 gal tank looks to have some mold or mildew build up in it - the dark stuff in the pipe that runs to the gravity fill port outside. You might want to add a tiny bit of bleach to that and re-rout it so that it doesn't have the "dip" in it that holds water in the pipe after you fill. Love your videos! (On edit, I see you labeled it as the tank vent pipe)

Did you find using the off-grid plumbing practical, what with emptying the grey water tank, getting fresh water etc.? I decided against it in my build because I didn't want to lose the space for a water tank, especially since I didn't know if it would prove useful. How much power does the pump draw?

Nonetheless I hope you can answer them how do you maintain your water system? I've heard of using bleach and letting it soak but I'm curious about your methods. Also how do you about cleaning (not dumping) the natures head toilet?

I love seeing you in all your video's, I was hoping for some older footage of your plumbing but since someone else did it for you, maybe I'll just have to do what I was gonna do before, and that's just wing it and hope I thought of everything. I'm having some trouble finding the huge hose that fits the same water inlet you have so I might have to create my own and just cut the provided one off. Maybe you know of a link where I can see a more detailed breakdown of a tiny water system?
