Tina you will always be remembered for your singing career. You are such a beautiful soul although I was around at the beginning of your first marriage I have forgotten that and I have such profound respect for the fact that you survived and found a love with a person who makes you happy as you have made so many people happy with your performances! I bought your final performance so I can watch your vital energy on stage for the rest of my life! I love you!

What a fantastic lady this Deborah Davis is, so sweet, eloquent and well-spoken. Kind-hearted and a great storyteller when she talks about writing Tina´s memoirs and her days spent with Tina. You can almost see it. Great interview Ben! Ms. Davis´ work on the book is under-appreciated in the public, but she has made a most wonderful book from Tina´s words and memories of her extraordinary life.

I loved hearing you talk about Tina in the way we fans think about her. You saw the goodness in her and helped bring it out for her in her book on topics difficult for her to talk about. On stage she is always for the 'people' and I am more than happy to be one of her 'peoples'. She always appears to be so gracious and a good listener and likes to show kindness to others. I think she really liked you as I do too from your video here. Thank you for helping Tina with her current life book. She most certainly reinvented herself and shows much happiness with Erwin. We all think he is a lovely man and I like hearing Tina talk about him such as how he listens to the news every night and how he always acts older than she does. I like seeing them so happy together. Thank you Deborah Davis for this interview which I will watch again from time to time. I adore Tina Turner! Trish

I think it was '83, my mom took me to see the Lionel Ritchie Penny Lover Tour and he had Tina opening. At this time no one knew about the come back Tina was about to embark upon. Her performance at that concert was an incredible moment. The entire stadium was stunned at what they were seeing. I'll never forget it... after checking it out I saw this show on May 29 1984, the day that the Private Dancer album was released... great memories. oh and it was the Running with the Night Tour.

I recently watched an interview with Mike Wallace and Tina Turner. In that interview Tina said, when pushed a little, that she lived in a Europe/Switzerland for a reason. Several, actually. And she did not compare Switzerland to Tennessee in that interview. And she was eventually very candid about why she prefer to be in Europe. And I thought that what she said was going to offend Americans. But I think she just thought "never mind, his is the way it is".

She's the 2nd Black Female singer who found the EU to be more accepting of her & her music. I was watching a documentary on HBO Max, when I heard this for the first time. Haven't watched the new Donna Summer Doc yet. She was from NJ & I can't seem to pull her name out of the depths of my brain. I must look this up. There is terrible racism here. It SUCKS. We, are not the best. We can & must do much better. It's possible it was a Showtime Doc also. I love watching autobiographical documentaries. I was extremely fortunate to have seen Tina perform in Hartford CT. My parents, esp. my mom believed it was important to see, & hear, musicians live. Lost count on how many times we saw & Billy Joel! She was affected by Karen Carpenter's death. So she makes sure to see him every year! We went to numerous concerts. Seats weren't important & sitting together wasn't either. That made it doable.

@@ActorKevinOlson I know of Nina Simone and Josephine Baker before Tina Turner moving to live in Europe. The former two made no secret of why: racism in the US. Tina Turner was more diplomatic 🤓 A small lesson: Switzerland is not in the EU but it is right in the heart of Europe. Not every European country is a member of the EU 😉

It'd be interesting to know more about Tina the mother. Her kids are vaguely mentioned. Imagine what they went through with the divorce and then their mother's superstardom and her moving do far away from them. There seems to be great distance between Tina and her family. Her firstborn Craig (RIP) was the only member of her family at her wedding. No journalist ever really questions her about that. Motherhood is a part of her life, I'm sure she has done her best and also has some regrets. It would be nice to know more more about that side of Tina from herself and her surviving sons.

She has talked about it briefly in the past that she regrets not being close to the boys when they were younger primarily because Ike kept her away from home for almost the entire year touring so she couldn't really be available to them and mother them. When she went solo the focus was her survival and theirs at the end of the day because she continued to support them financially but they just couldn't have that strong mother/child bond especially with the younger one due to drugs. When Tina went solo he employed her younger son to play in her band but he had already started with drugs so she had to let him go, I think that kinda created serious separation between them, she remained close with her eldest till the end.

When Tina deceided to became a swiss citizen, she became a swiss citizen, she took on a new live before that, when she moved to Switzerland for reasons important to his her, her German now too Swiss, I do not know, husband gave her all the important reasons. And her decision was gold for her live and happiness. In America she could have never escaped the American way of life. I bet she was grateful for many things that helped her to become Tina Turner, but real happiness came to her not in America. But in Europe.
