This young man is missing out if he doesn't watch the live version of this performance. Even a back-in-the-day performance is incredible. The singer with the deep voice might of been Ike Turner, the husband who discovered her and who tried to beat her beautiful spirit out of her before she got away from him. Angela Bassett played her in wonderfully in her movie. I remember back in the day she a campaign for a hosiery company and when I purchased them, I was a given a poster of her sitting and all legs showing.
