In real life, elite golfers and pro's really do know how to correct their swings on the fly really well. But....even though they know what causes a shank and how to fix it in most cases, I still think most golfers have nightmares of an uncontrollable fit of the shanks happening to them and running out of ideas on how to fix it. There is a lot of accuracy in this scene to a good degree. The other accurate thing I can attest to....I don't get drunk before tournaments, but I have been known (I'm not proud of it) to chug a beer in the parking lot before I head to the practice range. It kind of relaxes me and puts me in a good state of relaxation.

I absolutely love this scene. I am a 4 handicap recreational player who has shot par and under par a few times and yet when I get slightly out of sorts and go back to basics to get my swing back, it never fails that right before I am totally "on", I get a case of the S words. The last time it happened was a few months ago when I hadn't had many reps and I was playing a round and was keeping it simple until my range reps got me totally back. I was surprisingly having a good round and just needed a few up and downs from around the greens to shoot par and I shanked my lob wedge on three successive holes. The guys I was playing with were shocked given how well I had played all day, I just shrugged and said it means my swing is almost perfect. Sure enough after that round my swing got back in the groove where I could do no wrong.

Let's be honest, most of us golfers have been there. I'm an 8 handicap, 11 at the time, and a couple of summers ago they just showed up out of nowhere. No rhyme, no reason, every wedge shot straight off the hosel. Then, about 3 weeks later, like a fart in the wind, they were gone. Weird.
