Timimoun oasis: Growing food in the desert I WIDE

Timimoun’s market is filled with colourful and fresh vegetables. One can hardly believe that they have been grown in the centre of the desert, in one of its unlikely gardens.
One of the sellers from the market invites us to follow him back into his garden. While showing us around, he explains to us the ancient irrigation system that allows vegetation to thrive in one of the driest places on earth.
From the film: “Algeria - The Veins of Desert”, from the collection “Connecting Traditions”
Direction: Alexandre Mostras
Production: Ma drogue à moi & Ushuaïa TV

These ppl are so brave growing everything from scratch in such a hostile environment...us in the north of Algeria have a lot of rain forests and fertile ground so produce is aplenty ... our siblings of the south are just so hard working 👏👏👏👏

Yes, it is enjoined upon all Muslims to fulfill the trust that Allah reposes upon them, e.g., taking care of nature, animals, plants, etc. because they're supportive of human existence.

They have to use pipes to transport water. Also they need to adopt drip irrigation system and eco friendly mulching technique to conserve and judiciously use this precious water.

Someone should put drip irrigation system in this oasis for equal distribution of water. The pipelines would be covered. So sand will not get mixed with water.
