Timex expedition scout review. The cheapest proper field watch?

Hello! So today's watch is also something that has been around for quite a long time. I believe that this Timex Expedition Scout is the ultimate afforfable field watch. With the quartz movement and a very solid build, it's actually a very good watch, even as a daily beater! So in this video I layed my thoughts on it!
Also, here is all of my social media, where I post all photos of my watches:

    Wait until you’re older. I don’t hear my watch ticking unless I put it right up against my ear. Spent 8 years in the Navy in an engine room and the past 20 years in a hospital boiler room

    I just bought one with a really nice brown leather strap. You may have a damaged watch as mine hits every marker and isn't wobbling. I would even swim remotely near fifty meters but If a person we're to go to such a depth they should buy a watch meant for that reason such as a divers watch.

    It's a handsome watch, proportions are balanced and the dial is legible. I like the fact that the second hand hits the markers spot-on, on the chapter ring. And good value for money too. The great thing about the nylon watch straps is that they can be thrown in with a washing machine with the regular laundry when they get a bit grubby. Great report, well done!

    Not a fan of the huge watches so popular now, don't really need Big Ben on my wrist. I went with the 36mm Expedition Scout, paid $32 bucks for it from Amazon. So far so good, it's holding up good. My second hand lines up perfectly and really doesn't bounce. As far as the noise, really? My old Timex Marlin makes a lot more noise, watches are supposed to tick.

    I have this watch with blue face and red second hand. The second hand hits between the indices so I need to take it apart and reset the second hand. I like it and it would be perfect if it had two things: day/date rather than just date and 100meters as mentioned here. 50 is just not enough. So, I ordered the perfect field watch, a Lorus Sports which has its own version of Indiglo, 100 meters, day/date, screw on back and stainless steel case. Twice the price but worth it.

    I've had mine for about 6 years, still ticking. Has a bunch of dings and scratches, which gives it character. But it's a hit or miss with whether you get a working or defective one from the factory a lot of people complain about this.

    I have a plastic Casio whose second hand hits every index pretty much dead center, silently and without any wobble. I don't know why, but the alignment thing is not the norm, even for much more expensive quartz watches. Anyway, if Casio can do it on a sub-$30 watch, I don't see why Timex can't achieve the same on a watch with more than double the MSRP. Just one of life's mysteries.

    Agree that it's a loud ticker. I turn it face down on the table next to my bed to silence that. The big negative for me is that I have bought 2 of these in the last year. The first one lasted a month before the dial that changes the time on the side just popped right out. Unable to get it to stay back in. Bought a second thinking the first was a fluke. Nope. Same thing. So Timex wants me to ship it back to them to fix it etc etc. Not for a $40 watch. I'm moving on to see what else I can find.

    I have one and really like the look. Unfortunately it kept horrible time. Was wrong almost every time I looked at it. Haven’t worn it in a few years. Recently pulled it out and tried to change the battery and can’t for the life of me snap the caseback back on.

  • @briandd27

    @briandd27

    @@Carriesaglock get a towel and Fold It Up a few times. Place to watch face down on the towel and lay the case back onto the watch. An adjustable wrench and gently push down on the case back. That should pop the case back back onto the watch. That's what I have done the most of my watches that have a case back that won't go on easily.
