Another detail I love is that Obi Wan starts losing to Maul when he goes on the offensive. He never goes on the offensive, it truly shows that Maul was getting in his head and almost caused him to make a fatal mistake but not sticking to his defense first mentality

Is it just me, or is Yoda's entire lineage just absolute batshit crazy? I mean, Dooku became a Sith, Qui-Gon lived his life as a big middle finger to the Council, Obi-Wan amputated limbs like it was going out of style, Anakin was a firm believer in the 'Geneva Suggestion' while also becoming a Sith, Ahsoka holds the record for most on-screen decapitations, and Luke is a kid from a desert who gets radicalized by a bearded old priest, and almost immediately goes off to free a political prisoner then destroy the military installation she was held at, killing millions in the process.

Then there Rey and Ben. Ben doing granddads thing again but sucking at it and the last being the grandchild of the guy destroyed the order in the first. Oh that one had a little edge to her. Ever notice he Rey screams a lot when she really fight people Note:do not respond to me about “Rey palpatine”. The sequels not being canon or how Rey doesn’t count Yeah she and Ben (and Leia) count like it or not. Yes the sequel are a mess and that’s me being generous 7 was a solid but uninteresting start 8 is honest 1/3 of a good movie 9 is a dumpster fire Give it time and Dave fiolini will do what he always. Use the failure of bad films to tell a better story.

First of all, I have always loved how Scottish that "no" sounds; it warms my tartan blood XDD Second of all, Obi-wan had SO MUCH potential to be a fallen Jedi; literally heaps of everything that recipe needs: pain, anger, fear, sorrow, grief; you name it, he's felt it. True, I feel that his faithfulness to the Jedi ways and traditions makes his story even sadder than if he were to fail those ways. So much grief and suffering, and he had to endure it in order to keep his oath to the Order. A true Knight, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

This makes him contrast anakin even more. You can ewsily argue kenobi suffered as much as anakin if not more, yet he never fell.

Well, it was established way back in TESB that he used to be a reckless as a young man. So, Obi was always a natural hot-head, and had to temper his emotions over time.

"You are mistaken." The delivery. The subtle anger and the invitation to challenge. It's like him saying "Fine, I won't hold back" and he didn't. Brutally breaking Savage's knee and cutting his arm off while not only surviving the confrontation against two of the strongest and most feared fighters at the time, but also winning.

I love the scene with the Zygerian slave traders because its one of the only times you see Obi-wan frustrated enough to fully destroy something by crushing it with the force.

Crazy that even while fighting dooku, someone so obviously more experienced and superior in force skill and duelling who gets off on verbal taunts in a fight.. kenobi still won’t get as angry as when he fights maul and later half of maul.

Yep, I noticed the same thing, hence what I wrote in the description. But some of the scenes I included anyway for the laughs haha. Ngl I was mostly using this vid as an excuse to use show my non-SW friends some of my fav Obi-Wan scenes, and I just have a bad habit of forgetting that people on KZread take their titles very seriously 😂All fair points though!

I appreciate the martial art tactic of repeatedly attacking one spot on an opponent to hobble them. I've seen it done in MMA matches, where one fighter repeatedly attacks the leg or hip of their opponent until they can't fight properly anymore.

But lightsaber has effectively no weight so bashing it at saberproof material has no use. Same as rising it above your head tbh. At the beginning it just made Qui Gon to open himself for attack

I really wouldn't describe these as going feral, more so I was very focused or tense. And yes, a few of those times I have Anakin a stern reprimand but he always deserved it!

You forgot a clip where in rebels maul says kenobi was.. protecting something? No, someone, and then he ignites his blue blade with a challenging frown. Maul can call him a rat, an old hermit, put out his nice little campfire.. but don’t you dare threaten the new hope.

Obi wan and ventress bit was the best "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" tbh it was cool seeing them fight together

obi-wan's the kind of guy that's impossibly calm like 90% of the time so you think you can just keep pressing his buttons without consequences, but once you finally tick him off enough he just snaps & and cuts off at least one of your limbs with no remorse sjdhfgsjh. you're lucky if you get away with half your limbs and don't end up like anakin who lost 3 limbs to kenobi in a single swing. rip.

You know what I love about Kenobi...he's grace under pressure! A true Jedi Knight! Extremely capable, but always choosing valor over aggression!

Getting faded watching Darth Maul murdering Qui Gon infront of Obi-Wan. Then the next scene him pacing and charging at Maul, transports me back being 4 years old in 1999... Watching this in the movie theaters, chills. Scarred into my brain for life.

Obi-Wan saying "You are mistaken" after Maul says he's outmatched and then proceeding to absolutely decimate Maul AND Savage at the same time might be the most badass moment in all of Clone Wars

Dooku actually tried to convince Sidious a few times to convert Obi Wan to the dark side because he saw a lot of potential in him and didnt like Skywalker very much, he'd usually give respect to Obi Wan during their encounters

I love how Ewan and Liam gave Ray Park a rough time behind the scenes because they would improvise a lot. In the end it turned out pretty well and it seems like it's the other way around because they had to tone it down a bit. Also pretty sure Obi-Wan vs Maul had to be slowed down in editing cus they were too quick.

Minus the part where Maul kills Sabine in cold blood and Obi Wan watched her die in his arms after chasing Maul away.

Dual wielding a lightsaber is a form 4 style (Ataru), when Obi-Wan is a padawan he is a form 4 practitioner but when he realized that form 4 is not practical in tight spaces because on how his master Qui Gon Jinn died (also a form 4 user) he change his form into form 3 (Soresu) so he has some knowledge in dual wielding

Obi-Wan is a beast with two lightsabers.

I've never really understood how Obi Wan gets his ass handed to him twice fighting Maul and Savage when he has a partner, but then somehow on his own he takes them both well enough to cut off Savage's arm and make Maul want to run. I love the clone wars series but the fights were mad inconsistent about who would win in a fight.

I think the first two times he let them get under his skin and wasn't focused where as this fight he was amazing. I remember hondo laughing at them for running away from obi wan but if he'd seen him in that fight he'd run too

So Obi Wan rushed out there, didn’t realise savage opress was there , thought he was just fighting some deranged guy. He wasn’t even sure if it was Darth maul, thought it could be someone claiming to be Darth maul. He gets there and it’s the worst case scenario, not only is it Darth maul, he realises that he’s teamed up with savage opress and he losses that fight, rather he’s not in the right mindset. Ventress and obi wan together kind of stalemating them but are eventually going to lose in that space in that situation they need to flee. When you get to this episode(revival) obi wan is much more focused and ready. Not only that when adi gallia dies, he gains even more focus and has to kind of right that wrong. He is a very skilled swordsman, so he’s not going to loose that fight in that situation, so it’s really maul and savage who kind of overextended.” -Dave Filoni
