The National Basketball Association (NBA) is a men's professional basketball league in North America; composed of 30 teams (29 in the United States and 1 in Canada). It is widely considered to be the premier men's professional basketball league in the world. The NBA is an active member of USA Basketball (USAB), which is recognized by FIBA (also known as the International Basketball Federation) as the national governing body for basketball in the United States. The NBA is one of the four major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada. NBA players are the world's best paid athletes by average annual salary per player.
The league was founded in New York City on June 6, 1946, as the Basketball Association of America (BAA).[1][5] The league adopted the name National Basketball Association on August 3, 1949, after merging with the competing National Basketball League (NBL). The league's several international as well as individual team offices are directed out of its head offices located in the Olympic Tower at 645 Fifth Avenue in New York, NY. NBA Entertainment and NBA TV studios are directed out of offices located in Secaucus, New Jersey.

Actually, that just proves that point even more, because you NEED a good organization to set up pieces in order to contend. They need star players, role players that complement them, for that you need to know how to set up trades, get good draft picks, along with the staff and coaches so yeah, management does play a big part, perhaps the biggest in winning championships. If the bulls didn't trade for Scottie Pippen during the draft, Jordan can kiss those 6 rings goodbye. If they didn't get pieces like Steve Kerr, Rodman, Kukoc, no way that 2nd three peat would've happened. That's management right there, not the players themselves. Just take a look at Cleveland and Lebron lmao.

They typically are pretty big contributing factors. Still gotta build the right team. Just in this case it wasn't at all. Just dumb fucking luck that he got to draft the GOAT who was a player that pushed his teammates to their limits and didn't accept failure.

Although Krause does deserve some credit for putting-building the Bulls of this Era, he’s most Definitely the one for it’s dismantling and breakdown as Well. Krause may have been a “master at scouting” but at the end of the Day it’s about Winning & Championships, yes!??.. He May have drafted these players But the picks he selected were never given any support or time to develop. He (Krause) didn’t seem to have the time nor patience to mould, develop these players and have them mature so he traded Them away. So he can’t take nor shouldn’t be given credit for their accomplishments At least They went on to better careers elsewhere!... (Accomplishments On Other Teams!) “ If “ Only he’d kept his pride & ego checked, stepped back-looked at the “Bigger Picture” those players drafted during this time could of come into an Established Foundation. A Franchise Of Hard-work, Sacrifice, Winning & Championship(s) If Only they could of had veterans such as Jordan, Pippen, Kerr etc.., in place. Oh Wait!...... 🤦🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️ lol #justsaying #outsideopinion #perspective “If Only!”

Man, after Jordan their draft picks weren't bad, in fact most their draft picks were hits, they just made awful trades repeatedly. And the head coaches are a who's who of who? I will say, I noticed the bulls kept hiring "former bulls" which is a problem not just for that franchise. I'm a lifelong L.A. fan of all sorts, and USC has that problem. We keep bringing in former Trojans even though they're not the best candidate. The new AD reneweed Heltons contract. Idk it that was the best route to take, seeing aside from the Darnold replacing the starting QB Brown and took the team to a Rose Bowl and did a miracle coming back to beat Penn State (a team that all around was better but Darnold found a way which is why I believe he at the NFL level with a good enough offense around him could blossom into a high level qb at the NFL level, but it's the jets which is a horrible organization). Anyways, in short, hiring "in house can wind up being totally the wrong move. If they're in house guys but also have a proven record, that's another thing, but it more often than not winds up just dragging rebuilds on and on.

People were freaking out about who was going to take over for Jordan, but we just knew with guys like Iverson and Kobe and Shaq, Duncan, Garnett, Pierce, Allen, there was just so many guys that we knew were going to be great and basketball was going Open up again and give someone else a chance to win. 2000- 2001 could've been a turnaround season..Only if: they manage to secure one franchise player in either T-Mac or even Eddie Jones (Getting Tim Duncan was not realistic), kept and nurture Brad Miller, Elton Brand, and Ron Artest. And of course replace Tim Floyd. They'll be a contender for sure.. not sure if they will win Championships.

I used to light it up with Corey Benjamin, Rusty Larue, Randy Brown & Brent Barry in 2K... Nothing more satisfying than giving a spanking to somebody who had the Lakers or Sixers after they say, "you sure that's who you want?".. told this day, I don't even know how to play with a good team on the game.. they just gotta have some obscurity.. I knew I was a bulls fan & was never turning back then... It was over when DRose got drafted.. it wasn't even a question of winning no more, just stats, 45, 20, 10, 5.. I shole wish LBJ would've stopped playing as much D a lil bit earlier cuz that's what it took from us getting that chip. I'll never forget that switch off & want no other bulls was even trying to help, they was moving away from the ball. That was some classic ball bro. Intense.

Krause was the face / scapegoat for upper management. Reinstorf didn't want to pay the money that the older players and coach were due. He alone could have nipped it in the butt at the beginning of that season. It was Krause's job to work within the perameters that the owner set. Scotties own choice to sign a lower than market value contract. Yet he made Krause the easy scapegoat and not Reinstorf.

If Krause truly had the final say. Jordan would have played with a young T-Mac in place of an ageing Pippen.

At the same time, though, Krause's eye for scouting remained sharp. A lot of the players he drafted became really good players-on other teams. One of the biggest problems he had post-Jordan was a lack of patience in letting his players develop. Part of that may have had to do with his declining health, but I still believe him to be a big part of the Bulls dynasty, and deserves more credit than Michael Jordan would ever give him.

Nicholas Tricarico Everyone blames Krause for breaking up the Bulls. Yeah I agree, but the owner Jerry Reinsdorf was a joke. He let Krause manage and thought it was smart to let Krause dismantle the greatest team of all time (95-96 Bulls) I think after the 98 season Jordan would’ve retired no matter what and if he kept Phil till the end of the season and maintained a good relation with Pippen and resigned him and Rodman we could’ve seen them in the ECF

@@wanilimbe I'm not going to disagree that the optics were bad in terms of how the team was broken up. That being said, it had to be done at some point, and I feel like he could have succeeded in building a competitive team post-Jordan had he been patient with the players he drafted.

What killed Krause’s rebuild was the Jay Williams motorcycle accident. That was the next franchise player or at least a serviceable guard that would’ve gotten the bulls back into the playoffs. What killed John Paxton’s time being gm was allowing Tom thibodeau to completely erode Derrick Rose’s ACL, trading him, and failing to build around Jimmy Butler.

As big of a POS as Jerry Krause was for what he did, he actually could have potentially built a good team if he just had patience. Instead he traded away 3 future all-stars (Brand, Artest, Miller) in a couple of ridiculously lopsided trades.

Fully agree, 4:46 this is an okay lineup on paper and has the makings of a decent initial rebuild. A couple holes that needed to be filled (PG for one), but still a solid base of Brand, Artest, Miller, Crawford and Redd

Honestly, the real issue is Bulls Owner Jerry Reinsdorf, cheap-o billionaire he didn't want to pay for anyone...and in The Last Dance, he used that as an opportunity to blame it all on Krause.

I don't care what anyone says, when you have Michael Jordan on your team you do what you need to do as an organization to win. They should have run it back in 99. Duncan v Jordan in the finals would have been great.
