Two of those picks became top-tier players but unfortunately their weak organisation has traded way and lost all the rest of except Tristan Thompson. I really hope they don't get the #1 this year because it should go to a team who's been actually struggling for a while in the league. But they didn't react towards his first loss like that, did they? Tearing down his banner, burning his jersey, the owner writing an open letter attacking LeBron? I mean, I don't wanna throw the whole city under the bus and say "Cleveland didn't deserve him coming back", but.. you know... I'm pretty damn close to saying exactly that.

Because the Cavs players didn't want to listen to Blatt. The reasons given for his firing was bullshit compared to what Lue got away with. Blatt was originally hired to coach a young team led by Kyrie & Andrew Wiggins. Bron comes & things changed. Cavs are in win now mode. Things weren't working out & they traded Waiters & got got JR, Iman, & Mozgov & played like the best team in basketball until Kevin Love got hurt. Blatt did almost call a timeout that would have cost the Cavs the game & his original play call of LeBron in bounding was indeed silly. They move on & somehow with defense & LeBron's offense, they take the Warriors to six without Kyrie or Love. Blatt doesn't have anymore gaffes after the Bulls series & the Cavs start the 2016 season as the favorite to win the title. The actions that led up to Blatt's firing were his decision to give less minutes to Mo Williams & Richard Jefferson for the Christmas game. There were problems with that because he apparently he didn't notify them until the game. They played GS close & lost by 6 with a returning Kyrie. Cleveland proceeds to get blown the fuck out by GS on MLK Day & apparently there was a "revolt" against Blatt in their Portland game. Blatt gets fired despite the Cavs being 30-11 & top ten in offense & defense. The reasons for his firing were; the near timeout called that would've resulted in a tech, the bad play drawn up that would've erased Bron's game winner, not being hard enough on the big three, cutting to two vets mins for one game & not telling them until the game, apparently not utilizing Love enough, & there just being some disconnect between he & the players caused by how he treated the big three & LeBron's own dismissal of him. What told me that he was on thin ice once LeBron got back was when Lue got a fresh four year contract without proving anything. Lue was also the highest paid assistant coach in NBA history. Blatt doing what he did can be chalked up to typical rookie coach shit. Now, imagine your assistant was ALSO interviewing for your job & he's the highest paid at his position in history, & you have gone from mentally preparing a young run n gun team to championship or bust with the best & most influential player in the league. The fact that Blatt didn't coach worse is amazing to me. He went to a no win situation once they lost Kyrie in game 1. The Cavs defense was AWFUL post 2016 & the main reason they went 1-8 against GS the next two Finals. Lue funny enough got away with the same shit that Blatt got fired for. He kept starting guys like JR & TT despite them playing terrible & despite he himself saying that the Cavs were a playoff team & thus just coasting til the season ended. Young guys who could've contributed or at least picked up fouls so the better players wouldn't. Instead they remained stuck to the bench. The Cavs defense remained bottom ten as the defending champs & he saw no desire to fix it calling it a "secret" & saying that they were "saving it" They had a historical offense thanks to over reliance on Kyrie & LeBron. Love was still being criticized as not good enough & constantly in trade rumors. It only got uglier once Kyrie was traded. The team rarely practiced which only made their defense worse, & thanks to the divide in the locker room, the team played with no consistency. Every week there was a story of some issue amongst the players. Lue didn't play young players like Osman & Zizic despite the injuries & horrible play of JR & Jae. By the playoffs, the team was woefully under prepared & got smacked by 20 in the first game. LeBron won a playoff series virtually by himself. And, the Finals showed that Lue was dunzo once Bron left. He didn't call a timeout once JR grabbed the ball & watched as 4 secs dribbled away. He also had no control over the team before the overtime period. None. They displayed no fight in a close out game & got embarrassed by a GS team that was literally playing to puff up Steph's stats. And, despite all that. The Cavs fired him because he disobeyed an order to not play Smith, Frye, & Korver. That's what got him fired. Not the 0-6 start or the terrible play from the team. It was him deciding to play Smith & Korver. He'd probably still be the coach today if he didn't play them.
